This is a really cute toy! It's as close to the real thing as possible. Just to caution you, read the directions for installing the batteries! If you open the wrong screw, you break the hamster. You must hold the hamster at the top by the fur and pull down the plastic part underneath. You will see at the top (which was originally covered the body of the hamster, a screw...that's where the battery goes. I purchased this at the shore for $10 and need a replacement quick, cause my son was upset that mommy broke it. I was happy to find it at Amazon for 80% less than what I paid!

When I was younger and my real hamster had just died I noticed this is a toy store and my mom let me get it. Sure the cute hamster in the wheel was fun but after awhile I figured out if I take the motor out a tiny RC car would fight perfectly inside, so then I have control of this hamster all over the house =D I'm 18 now and I sitll have the pink wheel up on a shelf with the hasmster happily sitting inside with a purple ribbon tied on it to show it's a girl. I had great fun with it =)

I purchased this for my friend since she's unable to keep a real pet alive, and i figure this just needs batteries. In any case for the price of under $3.00 i felt this was a steal. It's pretty easy to setup, get out of the box and use. You have to pull the battery compartment out via the velcro and use a screwdriver to put in a battery. If there is a negative, i'd say it's the fact it's a screwdriver to take out the battery vs. say using a tab or your hands. The hamster itself has uneven wheels which then makes it walk or waddle like a real thing. You can actually take it out of the hamster wheel and let it run on the carpet/floor and it will waddle around in a cute way. At work everyone we showed loved it and posted videos or pictures on facebook to show how fun it was. One coworker loved it so much she had me buy 30 more to giveaway at a kids birthday party.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. The little pet is poorly made& came broken. It is not even worth returning.

The picture of this item was a hamster wheel, and I received a hampster ball. I was not please with it. When installing the battery in the hampster the wire fell off. This item is completely useless to me.

This is a rating for the seller ABCTOY4me and not the product. The reason I am posting in this manner is because it is hard to dig out the REAL feedback about this seller in the midst of all the FAKE FEEDBACK. I have just recently purchased a product from this store and had several major complications. My product not arriving on time without any notification. I, MYSELF, having to contact the seller for them to say that they FORGOT to send it. Then offering a 50% discount, on my placed order, but then days after that, saying the product is not available. This all happened within a time frame of 3 weeks. Now, about what I think is fake feedback. There was some negative feedback here and there about this seller with a 1 out of 5 stars and similar problems in their descriptions, however the 5 out of 5 stares outweighs the 1 star feedback. The problem is, there are several feedback posts under the same name that give out 5 out of 5 stars with no real description about their experience that are posted to cover up the 1 out of 5 star feedback with detailed descriptions. For Example: 5 out of 5 Stars - David L. 5 out of 5 Stars - David L. 1 out of 5 stars - Katrina D. 5 out of 5 Stars - David L. 5 out of 5 Stars - David L. and so on... so ask yourself.. is this real feedback? In Conclusion: BEWARE when Purchasing from ABCTOY4me. They are very unprofessional in their selling business.

Tried to get this for my 11 year old for Christmas, but they were sold out and/or VERY expensive. However, was a bargain in June, his birthday. Wasn't sure what he'd think of it--- he has a real hamster (again). He loves it! He has proclaimed it "cool" and has played with it more than anything else he got for his birthday (including his real hamster.) (well, ok, he got an ipod touch and hasn't put THAT down, but still...) I was pleasantly surprised at his reaction and really the cleverness of the toy. Was worth the [...] I paid! Glad I didn't pay three or four (or more!) times that at Xmas. And it doesn't eat or poop......

This is a very nice Zhu Zhu Pets hamster. Everything works perfectly. The hamster makes a lot of cute noises, and can run around on hard surfaces. Also, the hamster is very soft! A very entertaining toy that never looses its charm. Great price too.

I think this zhu zhu pet is cute and even though it shouldn't cost THAT much,the toy is kool to play with. Plus, if you get some accessories, it is entertaining to watch the hamster move around. I got the Zhu Zhu pet adventure ball and its SO fun to watch the toy run around in the ball. GREAT TOY!

THIS ONE DOES WORK RIGHT. I ORDERED THREE FOR MY GRANDCHILDREN AND THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK. WE PUT IN NEW BATTERIES AND IT STILL WILL NOT RUN. JUDY FITZPATRICK. PLEASE SEND A NEW ONE AND I WILL SEND THIS ONE BACK.

It's fun to play with, but it gets pretty annoying if you don't want to hear it. If it gets accidentally pressed in the night... well, then. It wakes you up right away. Who wants that to happen? And I don't recommend running it on carpet. It gets carpet hair in the wheels... so... yeah. It stops. Otherwise, it is a fun, collectible toy that's pretty durable.Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster Pipsqueek - Yellow here is another zhu zhu pet.

I avoided getting sucked into the Zhu Zhu Pet hoopla over the Christmas season but eventually caved. My children's cousins owned a couple of them and they were all having a blast watching this little hamster make squeaky noises and run around. A week or two later, we were at the mall and picked up the pink, "Jilly" hamster. The way that the hamster senses that it's run into a wall and needs to back up reminds me of a Roomba. Smart little hamster! I've observed an almost 2 year old, 3, 4, and 5 year olds all having a great time. However, be aware that Cepia, the company that makes the Zhu Zhu Pet, recommends the toy for 4+ year olds. While researching for this review, I found out that the Zhu Zhu Pets were almost recalled for a high level of antimony, which is a dangerous metal. Though the Consumer Product Safety Commission deemed the toy safe, I would probably still keep the toy away from younger children who may put the toy in their mouths, just to be safe. We had to return our Zhu Zhu Pet after just 2 weeks because it worked only intermittently. It would make a high pitched noise and would not move forward unless we gave it a little push. We just ordered a replacement online and hope that this one is a bit more durable. Zhu Zhu Pets are definitely fun little toys. Though some kids may not be that entertained by it, I think a vast majority will. And as with all toys, make sure that it is age appropriate and that play is supervised. We are responsible for our own kids' safety.

My daughter recieved this as a xmas gift and rarely plays w/ it. The "stupid mouse" as she calles it, scares her.(shell be 3)she gets pinched in the wheels (which have a very strong motor) almost every time she plays with it. She would rather have me turn it on and put it down so it can chase her while she runs screaming.

An adorable little toy that the kids just love.I bought this and a few others for birthday gifts for them and they let them run around the house.The dog used to chase them but now just ignores them.The kids put them in ,I guess,a hamster house and they run around from one cage to the other.Mostly they just play on the floor with them.Truth be told I like to play with them too.They are adorable and I bought them on sale at Target and they were no where near the online prices.

This is basically a pile of cloth on four tiny wheels. I don't understand why they call it the hottest toy, but my 7 years old lost interest in 2 minutes. I don't blame her. Find something else, this is not worth your money!

I love Zhu Zhu Pets. They're so cute! The starter set comes with a cute little hamster named YoYo and a wobbly ball. If it comes late then it is worth the wait. This is a great product.

We purchased the Zhu Zhu pets starter bouse for our 7 year old's birthday. The house is fine and works with other zhu zhu pets. However, the zhu zhu pet that came with the starter set is not working. I have emailed Amazon and their seller we bought it from with no answer other than sending everything back. Of course, the 7 year old does not want to do this. It would be nice to be able to swap out the not functioning zhu zhu pet with another, but that is not going to happen. Otherwise, it is a good product so far.

Bought this item for my granddaughter. She loves it. It is cute. Don't know how durable it is. But if my granddaughter likes to play with it, that is what matters.

My niece is 4 years old. I gave her two pieces of the Zhu Zhus for Christmas - she LOVES it. After doing the real hamster thing, I DO TOO! 2 months later, she still plays with it.

My step daughter was so happy that I found this for her for Christmas.It's fun and so cute.

My daughter just turned 6 and this is her favorite game. So far, she has had no complaints about it. No frustration like other games can create. You can save 3 profiles, she "visits" all of her pets frequently. Good game for the younger crowd!

I got this today (not from Amazon) and immediatly turned on my Dsi. At first you get to pick only 1 Zhu Zhu pet, although there are 5 to pick from. On my first account (you can make up to 3 accounts) I picked Num Nums. Then you are sent to your "nurture" area. In the nurture area you can care for your Zhu Zhu pet! You can feed him, water him, give him carrots as treats, pet him, put him to sleep, exersice him, go to the nursery (more explanation later), and make sure he goes to the toilet. But it dosen't end there. You can also go on an adventure with your Zhu Zhu pet. In adventure mode you can collect money to buy food, keys to earn upgrades, carrots to give as treats, stars to give high scores, and baby Zhu Zhu pets! Now that I have mentioned the baby Zhu Zhu pets, let's get to the main goal in the game. The goal is to find the 10 baby Zhu Zhus lost somewhere in Adventure Mode and bring them home. Since I haven't got all 10 yet, I don't know if the "home" is your nursery (located in nurture mode) or if after you find all 10, you take them out of the nursery and deliver them to another... point is, I don't know a lot about the baby Zu Zhus yet. After about 45 minutes of play, my broter (age 4) asked to play his new game. I knew I had to give him a turn, so I told him that he could only play for 1/2 an hour (it is MY Dsi, after all) But when I came back to make him give me a turn, I noticed he was playing Zhu Zhu pets! I asked him why, and he said: "Because it's just fun!" And after watching him play for a minute without needing any help, I told him he could play a little while longer. And after that, I realize this isn't just a game for 9 year olds (that would be me) but that it's a game anyone can enjoy.

I bought the Zhu Zhu for my cat to play with.. needless to say she's terrified of it hahah. It's a good toy.

I am a parent of a 5 year old boy & writing this review on his behalf (I have never played myself). His words: "this is a very easy & fun game to play" "I love feeding, taking the pets to the bathroom, and having races with them" "I figured out how to play this all by myself & I love it."

This is the best DS game I have seen for young kids. So easy but not boaring easy... My kids (5 & 3) love playing this game. They can care for pets, run mazes, find the flag, save babies and earn more hamsters. It is fast moving and lots of fun. The baby was a cute bonus that although the fuzz wears off quickly, my son loves it.
