A toy soldier is a miniature figurine that represents a soldier. The term applies to depictions of uniformed military personnel from all eras, and includes knights, cowboys, pirates, and other subjects that involve combat-related themes. Toy soldiers vary from simple playthings to highly realistic and detailed models. The latter are of more recent development and are sometimes called model figures to distinguish them from traditional toy soldiers. Larger scale toys such as dolls and action figures may come in military uniforms, but they are not generally considered toy soldiers.

Reviews

I never liked violin music until I heard Joshua Bell at the Hollywood Bowl in California. Since he doesn't play there every day and his playing evokes such emotion, I bought this album. It's terrific. I would see him or hear him in a heart beat so if you really LOVE violin classical music, you will love this CD.

I first discovered this whilst listening in the car in England to classic FM when they played SARASATE, Carmen Fantasy. We had arrived at our destination and we sat there for another l0 minutes while we heard the whole track. What can you say? Joshua Bell is brilliant. We bought the double CD mainly for this track, but it is all fantastic.

Joshua Bell's playing is simply enchanting. This recording is wonderful and I needed it as a reward after I fought the plastic case to release the two discs. The packaging - hard plastic case with a non-release hard plastic wheel in the center of the CDs - was so frustrating that I was considering breaking the case just to get the discs loose, but was worried I'd break the CDs instead, so I puzzled on with it. Luckily I figured out a way to use my scissors to pinch one of the three "teeth" that holds the disc in the case and was able to get the disc out without breaking anything. I have *never* seen a disc packaged like this before; requiring a tool to release the disc... Do I need to get out more?

This CD truly shows what a master Joshua Bell is, as he beautifully interprets and plays music from a wide range of composers!

Dealing with pain is hard work, and slower, gentle music is very healthy for those of us dealing with disease. Consequently I'm always on the lookout for soothing sounds. Joshua's violin music is breathtaking; I forget my pain while his violin sings.

I bought this CD because I was going to be teaching a preschool ballet class. There were very few usable songs on the disc. They sounded too, well, classical - not "kid" enough for me. Maybe I just had the wrong idea when I bought it, I don't know!

This is wonderful classical music. If the kids like it, great! But, make no mistake about it, this is good for anyone. This is wonderful study music, reading music, or just plain relaxing music. Highlights include "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers"; "March of the Toys" (from BABES IN TOYLAND -- the reason I bought this CD); "The Sorcerer's Apprentice"; "The Little Train of Caipira" (no longer little when the music is over); and the audience favorite "Hoedown" (i.e. "Beef, it's what's for dinner!"). If you're into that whole thing of classical music sharpening a youngster's intellect, then this won't disappoint. If you're just into good old fashioned classical music in general, it won't disappoint you either. Also, I highly recommend to both groups the classical CD BUILD YOUR BABY'S BRAIN.

This is a wonderful album. Very high quality, and every selection is beautiful. My daughter (who usually asks me to turn my classical music off) loves to pretend to gallop like a horse during "Rodeo" and march like a soldier during "Parade of the wooden soldiers". This is a pleasure for the whole family!

I use this CD with my preschool music group. The kids love it! This CD enables children learn about classical music without over extending their attention spans.

Fritz Kreisler Plays Kreisler Fritz Kreisler Plays Kreisler

Reviews

Last summer I had several nights of terrible insomnia. I turned on the FM classical music station; something I don't do very often. They played several selections from this CD. Both the compositions and the performances were unforgettable. After receiving and listening to the cd, all of these are excellent compositions well performed. This is a collection of Fritz Kreisler recordings going as far back as 1910. 1910! You might call those recordings Lucky to Have Any Fidelity. Yet you can hear performances that almost certainly don't exist in any other form. So these do indeed sound like 78 rpm records played on a 78 record player. The transfer engineers disclaim any attempt to use "Radical methods to eliminate all surface noise...." My own experience with using equalizers is that it is usually better to "leave it flat" or as is. Some of the comments indicate that people are bothered by it; I suppose young people who have only listened to digital recordings. If you only listen to perfect recordings, you will miss 90 per cent of the best music performances ever recorded, no matter the category. Just imagine people in the 1920's buying their first record player and hearing Kreisler's Liebesfreud while sitting on their sofa and thinking: could life be any better than this?

Probably the most definitive collection of Kreisler's music put on cd. Remarkably good sound quality considering the era in which these recordings were made (early 20th Century). Kreisler (in my mind) was the greatest violinist since Nicolo Paganini. The power of Kreisler's fiddle even pacified the sinister Ty Cobb (the most feared baseball player during that period, who sharpened his spikes before games to run down and shred the flesh of opposing players). Yes Cobb hauled around a phonograph on road trips, and spent endless hours alone being entertained by Fritz Kreisler in hotel rooms. A small but marvelous treasure for anyone who appreciates the majestic energy of music. All is well.

Besides the bacground hiss, I found I had to turn the volume up to max just to hear it. So when you play more than one CD the others will be normal volume but when Kreisler starts you hear nothing and have to turn the volume all the way up to have it at low normal levels. So I recommend passing on this one.

Sometimes the author isn`t the best performer of his own works. That`s not the case. I completely agree with the previous reviewer: yes, only Kreisler can play Kreisler. While listening to this music you so wounderfully feel the spirit of the old Vienna, that most technically perfect record couldn`t compare with this impressions. Treat surface noise of the records made in 1912-1946 as the scent of that distant time (by the way, nearly the age gone) - and you would be completely satisfied, because the playing by Kreisler is so scincere and soulful. So if you like Kreisler - don`t think twice. This is CD for you.

What can I say? Only Kreisler can play Kreisler. Get a discography of Fritz Kreisler and start hunting down everything you can find by this man. You can compare violinists; Heifetz has astounding technique, Milstein's always wonderful, Oistrakh is a favorite of many, Kogan can play anything, etc., etc., etc.. But Kreisler... is a unique personality of the violin. Yehudi Menuhin said of him in his autobiography, there are many great violinists with perhaps greater technique in this area or that; but "Kreisler mystifies me." Bruno Walter, the great conductor, said of Kreisler, "He did not play the violin; he BECAME the violin." and this is true. There is something special about Kreisler that transcends violin playing itself. Something heavenly is communicated by him with his instrument. Transfers from old disks are always of varying quality. Kreisler lived a long time ago and recording techniques were very primitive; but Kreisler even seems to rise above the pops and the clicks. Other artists are drowned out by them but Kreisler soars above them and makes one forget they are there. You're focused on the beauty and the background noise seems to disappear entirely. Other violinists have tried to play Kreisler and perhaps get the notes right, most notably among them, Zino Francescatti (who plays Kreisler better than any other man except Kreisler), but only Kreisler can play Kreisler. If you want to hear it best, put up with the background hiss. It's worth it. If you want a modern recording, see if you can find Francescatti's tribute album to Fritz Kreisler. it's OOP, but an LP in mint condition sometimes appears on an online auction service. Why the Francescatti album ever went OOP I do not know. He is the only modern violinist that ever really tapped into the soul of 'Fritz' when he plays Kreisler. If the disk is ever again released, snap it up before it goes OOP again. In the final analysis, modern violinists, at most, will give you a representative selection of only about 16 tracks and usually you get the worn chestnuts over and over again. Enough of Kreislers own recordings are still available that you can still get the whole gamut of his discography if you just look. Do so!

When I was a full-time performer at the Rio Hotel & Casino Show in the Sky in Las Vegas, I used these bubbles in my performances daily. After trying all those cheap bottles you find, and even some others, I would never use anything else.

These REALLY are the best bubbles on the market. Definitely worth the money - don't waste your money on ANY other brand.

It's ok. It's bubble solution. It's twice as expensive as the other options at Target and it's not twice the bubbles. In this particular size bottle, the wand doesn't work so great when you get half empty. This wand also drips a lot so you waste a lot of solution before you get to the half empty point.

The name of the product says it all. These bubble really do produce a gazillion bubbles! My daughter loves them and so do I!

My daughter loves this as Dora is her favorite character. Otherwise its not that educational at all. Pretty much fun and game activities.

I purchased this Leappad Educational Book for my granddaughter. She is 3 years old and just loves it. I highly recommend Leappad and the various books that accompany it[...]

Worth every penny! We had the Leap Frog already just got the book. Our daughter is to little to really catch on to it, but she loves hearing Dora's voice, boots too. Well worth it and something she'll play with for years to come.

My daughter likes this game very well. She plays it every night just before going to bed. I have had no problems with it. She has already mastered all the games on it though within the first day she had it.

My 3 year old got this with her first leappad and adores Dora, so it was an immediate hit. She listens, repeats and plays quietly for ages. Well worth a buy for any Dora fan.

LeapFrog LeapPad Learning System - Pink LeapFrog LeapPad Learning System - Pink

Reviews

My kids (5 and 3) really enjoy reading the books and interacting with the stories! The songs are fun, the games keep them engaged, and I know it has helped them learn numbers, colors, shapes, and the 5 year old is learning to sound out words very well! My main complaint with Leap is the lack of durability of their product; this is our third Leap Pad! Treat this like you would a laptop... you'd think a toy made for preschoolers would hold up to preschool handling! Our first one refused to work after being dropped a couple of times, the next one became erratic when the younger child chewed on the cord connecting the pen. So keep it on the shelf when not in use and supervise when they do have it... I guess that also keeps it fresh and exciting for them!

I bought this for my 5 year old and it was pretty much a hit. She likes playing games on my laptop more, but spends a good deal of time using her leappad. It has a microphone with which she and her sister love to record themselves and play back. We've taken it with us on vacation and kept them busy when nothing else would. She's already learned all of the planets in our solar system and the moons around Jupiter and she's only 5! Good size too - easy for a small child to carry but plenty big enough to feel like something very substantial. It lets you know when the batteries need replacing, (can't remember how many AA's but very reasonable) and it lasts a long time on one set of batteries. Really a good product and I don't regret buying it.

I've had the pink Learning System for a couple of years now and it's great. My kids were playing with it a few hours ago. It's been dropped, banged around, moved, you name it and it still works great. Be aware though that the spiral bound Leap Pad books are not nearly as durable. All of our books have ripped; I believe each one is missing at least one page. So if you're planning to invest in a Leap Pad system and the books, you should know that you'll be replacing books fairly often but you won't need to replace this system.

My sister got this when she was four with about 6 books included. I think my parents should have bought books along the way to keep up her interest with the leap pad beucase now she doesn't use at all becasue she knows the books and game backwards and forwards. So if you plan on buying this and want to buy books to go with it, I suggest spacing the purchases out. Giving my sister 6 books at one time might have seemed like a good idea at first but now she's ready for more, and they haven't thought of buying any more books. Don't forget theses are still books. Children will want to read something new!

Our granddaughter is three years old. We bought the Learning System after her baby sister was born. Babies receive all of the gifts and we wanted Natalie to have something special too. She loves it and calls it her computer. It is easy for her to use. We bought her the hand-held LeapFrog product for Christmas. Another winner. It keeps her occupied in the car - her own personal GameBoy type of toy. Overall, these are excellent products. Harriet Gurganus, North Carolina

Game of Life Game of Life

Reviews

My husband and I ordered this game for our son. We both enjoyed playing the game as children and thought our son would like it as well. We were a little surprised that it had changed some, but 20 years later, we really shouldn't have expected it to be the exact same. We actually liked the changes. They took us a few rounds to get it down, but we had a blast. Our son is asking us to play the game a lot. He has even taken it to his grandparent's house to play with them! We also got the game on sale and even with shipping, it was still cheaper than buying at our local Wal-Mart. So yes, beware, the game has changed, but just because a few people don't like change, doesn't necessarily mean the changes are terrible. The thing is, if you really want to play with the old rules (ie choose your career vs choosing blindly, spin for gifts vs using the LIFE tiles, etc.) than there is no reason you can't.

Having not had the original game of Life when I was a kid, I had nothing to compare it to. We got this for Christmas and I played it with my 11 yr old and 7 yr old sons. I thought it might be harder for my 7 yr old to follow at first..seemed a little grown up with all the careers, salary, etc. But he caught on and we had a fun game. He loved suing me...twice...

I bought this game because some friends and I had forgotten how to play. It had been a while, but once receiving the board game, it all came rushing back. The game lasted a lot longer than I remembered, and all of it's little details are really fun to set up. As a kid I never followed the precise rules, but now as an adult, it's more fun that way!

I was just now setting up this stupid game I got for my 9-yr-old son who asked for it. There are at LEAST 9 spots to land where you're supposed to sue your neighbor and get 100,000. I have a real problem with that. Another is where you get cosmetic surgery...what? I came online to see what alternatives I could come up with and make my own stickers to put over top of the extra bad spots. Definately should have read the reviews. I didn't have this one as a kid, but I can't immagine it being like this.

First of all, what made the original fun to play, when I was a kid, was imagining being an adult, making all these adult choices, and personalizing whatever mostly random set of experiences the game said we would have. The game just seems cheap and gimmicky now, like some soulless executive said "make it cost half as much to create, and throw some hooks in to make up for it" examples: 1. The plastic pieces now fall off the board, we had to fix the spinner several times. 2. The life cards are smaller, give less money (like 10 or 20k instead of 100 or 200k), an ugly yellow colour, and worst of all, don't say what they are for, we used to always read them at the end and ooh/aah/giggle depending on what the card was for, and how well it would fit the person who got it, but now it's just a number 3. The people don't stay in the cars any more, if you pick the car up by the person, they all fall out (this occurred frequently enough that we nicknamed it "Godzillaing"); there are all these cards called "share the wealth" like 30 of them, I think there are as much "share the wealth" cards as all other cards combined, but between the three of us, we only ever got one of these cards. 4. The new one turned the entire thing into an enormous cartoon, every image is cartoony and cheap feeling. The money doesn't look like money, the characters are all childish looking, you can't look at the houses and actually care which one you get, because they all look horrible (okay, the mountain cottage was decent). 5. They added roulette to the game (I kid you not), and built this whole thing around "spin to win" where your kids can learn to gamble. But it's not all bad, there were some things I liked about it 1. They got rid of trading your salary, which seemed to always go against me. 2. I liked the job raises you could get, and that the salary is now tied to the job instead of a separate card. Okay, that's pretty much it. Overall, I felt like I was just lining some corporate goon's pockets by buying the game.

This is definitely one of my girls favorite games. I have a 3 and a 5 year old daughters. I would say their most played games are this, Kindergarten, Letters on the Loose, and Pet Pals. We also have a Diego, a Princess, a Nemo, and an I Spy game that get occassional play. I would have to disagree with the person who does not think this game is educational! It tests math skills, memory skills, problem solving! I think it is a wonderful game, fun AND educational!

We have 6 leapster games and this one is second only to Puppy Pals. I am really impressed with the games on this cartridge. I know it has helped with word recognition for my kindergartner. Even my 3 & 1/2 year old can play this game; but the levels get hard enough I know that my older child will not get bored with the games.

She seems to really enjoy this Leapster game. Keeps her busy and makes her think. I bought this and the Leapster because I thought a 5yr old is too young for a DS. Working out just fine. For now.

My 5 year-old got a Leapster 2 and a few games for Christmas. This is her favorite by far. Very entertaining and educational! Highly recommended.

I have a toddler who will be three at the end of the year. She's pretty fast at picking up games and out-grew her LittleLeaps DVD game sets early this year. So I bought her the Leapster when I saw it on sale for 30 bucks a few months ago. It came with two games pre-loaded; the coloring/drawing game and the Bunny game where he has to cross the river by jumping logs. At first she just liked seeing what happened when the bunny jumped into the water... so she lost interest in it and only colored with the other game. So last week I bought this game, which is geared for K-2nd grade and she LOVES it!! Because there are so many different games and each game has simple levels she's able to play level 1 on most of them and especially loves the monster game and About Face which she has no problem following the simple instructions. I know the math and advanced levels of the word games are beyond her at this point, but she still likes to get the "sticks" to be the same hight, or click on the letters in the word find box... It's great that she has something that will grow with her now!

Toy Story Bucket of Soldiers Toy Story Bucket of Soldiers

Reviews

I bought these Toy Soldiers for my nephew and he loves them. They are much sturdier then any other toy soldiers I have found on the market. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

My son is into playing army so I picked these up for Christmas, the bucket is sturdy and the lid stays on well so they are easy to keep in one place, much better than the zip lock bag method we were using and the army guys are just hands above better than any I have ever seen. Check out the Toy Story tank, it is equally as good in quality!

The boys loved it. They will play with the soldiers for hours...except when they HAVE to play Wii.

The toy soldiers are pretty cool, but the main complaint is they are flimsier than normal toy soldiers and seem like the guns/ feet will break off fairly easily. Ok item, but could have found better.

I have to say that overall my kids and I liked the soldiers, as others have noted it is made of a softer plastic that seems more durable and cleaner. Far better than any of the cheap bagged sets you often find in the toy or grocery store. The highlight of the collection by far are the parachuters and while they do get tangled up they have held up well. So why the four star versus a five? The fact that there are ten of each figure, yes ten mine sweepers, ten bazooka, ten mortar, ten rifle men and so on, but you also get ten commanding officers in each of the two stances. In other words you get twenty sergeants. Something not apparent in the pictures or on the container. I would have liked two or three extra of each of the other five figures and less sergeants.

Lift the lid on a world of excitement and adventure with this Toy Story Collection: Bucket O Soldiers. This definitive collectors edition of the fearless platoon of 72 soldiers includes two working plastic parachutes so you will get a jump on other Toy Story fans...

Blue Division Soldier 1941-45: Spanish Volunteer on the Eastern Front (Warrior) Blue Division Soldier 1941-45: Spanish Volunteer on the Eastern Front (Warrior)

Reviews

I was intersted in the Blue Division, a unit which fought for the Germans on the Eastern Front during World War II, but found that most sources give it short shrift saying that it was an "ineffective unit" provided to Hitler by Franco in an effort to "buy" Hitler's assistance in regaining Gibralter at some future point or as a quid pro quo for Hitler loan of the Condor Legion to the Nationalists during the Civil War. This book, short as it is, gives a more complete picture. When Germany invaded the USSR there were spontanious and Falangist-led demonstrations in support of the effort. Spain had just come out of a painful civil war, one in which Stalin had sent weapons and soldiers to bolster the Republic, which would come further and further under the sway of leftists as the war went on. Many in Spain believed that the war was prolongd by the Soviets and others were still bitter over the atrocities committed by leftists against the Catholic clergy prior to and during the war. It was not surprising then that many Spaniards volunteered to serve in the German Army in order to "finish off" Stalin. This book discusses the organization, leadership and decorations of the division sent to fight on the Eastern Front. It also discusses the support contingents provided for the division inside German-occupied Europe. Lots of great artwork and photographs and a good illustration of the insignia worn by the unit. No maps though, which would have put the organization in better perspective. This is a great book!

After the help to FRANCO in Spain its natural that spanish volunteers fight with the germans against the russians, a good book with good drawings, photos and histories of the 250 division der infanterie in eastern front, a good source for begginers!

The subject of the Spanish volunteer "Blue" Division serving with the Germans on the Eastern Front in the Second World War continues to attract far more interest than many other Axis minor allied formations. Osprey produced the earlier Men-at-Arms title Germany's Spanish Volunteers, but Blue Division Soldier 1941-45 in the Warrior series does not repeat much from the earlier volume. Instead, this book is written by a Spanish historian from a Spanish point of view and while it offers much less on the activities and equipment of the Blue Division, it provides a better glimpse into the human aspect of this story. The bulk of the volume consists of a discussion of how the Spanish volunteers were inducted, how they served in the division and what became of them. Readers looking for detailed tactical descriptions will not find them in this volume, but it has merit as an examination of Spanish volunteers on the Eastern Front. Overall, a decent volume that doesn't make me feel like I'm just getting an updated version of the MAA title. After a brief discussion of why Spain felt compelled to send volunteers to fight with the Germans against the Soviet Union in 1941, the author moves into a section discussing how the recruits were drawn from the Falange Party as well as the Regular Army. The author makes some important points here, that the Falange and the Army had different visions for the division and some of these factors were not brought out in other books on the Blue Division. He provides only a brief section on training in Germany (a bit too brief), then spends about 10 pages discussing the composition of the division, broken down by ranks. The author makes the point that a major weakness of the division was the lack of a strong Spanish NCO corps, which made it difficult to fill out the large number of NCO slots based on German tables of organization. He discusses tactics in 3-4 pages, with one of the interesting items being that the Spanish use of bugles on the battlefield annoyed the Germans. Although he alludes to the Spanish aversion to static, trench warfare, he also points out that they lacked the training to conduct the German version of mobile warfare, so it's just as well they ended up at Leningrad. The 10-page section on life at the front covers the effect of mud and cold on Spanish troops, trench warfare, replacements, support and medical services, and discipline. The next section on motivation and morale covers food, religious services, propaganda, mail and awards. Another section covers the relationship between Spanish troops and Germans and the local Russian population. A final section covers the volunteers after their return to Spain and post-war veterans organizations. The B/W photos throughout the volume are very good and most have not appeared before in English-language works. The volume has six color plates (the departure of the Blue Division; decorations and badges; Spanish infantry in the Battle of the Volkhov Pocket; the Battle of Krasny Bor; daily life in Russia; veterans). Overall, this is an interesting look at the men that formed the Spanish Blue Division, but it is a bit light in areas that many military history readers enjoy (weapons, training, battles), so it is best used as an adjunct to other works. There's nothing terribly new here, but it is an interesting read and provides some depth on the human dimension of the Eastern Front.

Average Rating:

The all-volunteer 'Blue Division' was a formation that allowed Franco's technically neutral Spain to support Nazi Germany's invasion of Russia. This book narrates the experiences of the common soldier, exploring his motivation for serving the Wehrmacht, and detailing his dramatic experiences in a brutal and hostile theater of World War II.

Captain America Vol. 1: Winter Soldier, Book One (v. 1) Captain America Vol. 1: Winter Soldier, Book One (v. 1)

Reviews

This is the first Captain America comic I've checked out and I'm thoroughly impressed. This is awesome. It's a great place for any new reader to start on Cap and it gives you a different image of the characters than you've usually seen. It's a great combo of espionage, politics, war, romance, and traditional comic cook thrills. The revelations about Bucky in particular grabbed me very strongly. I expected Cap to be more jingoistic but I was pleasantly surprised at how real and well-developed the character is. This is thanks to Ed Brubaker's great writing and deep understanding and love for this character. Steve Epting's art is terrific, combining the iconic nature of the character with a more realistic style. When you think of Cap in your head, Epting's art is what you'll see. If you've ever been interested in Captain America at all, this is where to start.

I was never ever really into Cap America. Even though I admired Kirby's work on most other characters, his Cap and Bucky characters were never that interesting, as they only fought Nazis and appeared to be stuck in a time warp. Even when they revived Cap for the Avengers, his shield throwing antics, gymnastics and age were rather too patronisizing, and he was always referred to as the living legend. Imagine my very pleasant surprise when I first picked up this book. The brooding plot and setup was excellent, and artwork was largely terrific. Contemporary events are welded into a fine story. The story reads very well with all the villains and supporting characters being particularly well-fleshed out. Cap is best when he is not portrayed in fighting form, and Brubaker seems to have realised this. The book reads like a very taut thriller and Bucky is likely to make a comeback. The last story on Jack Monroe, alias the Nomad, was not well-drawn but is the best story in this volume. I have decided to give this a 5 star for overall sheer pacing.

First of all until the Civil War storyline i hadn't really been big into comics since the mid 90's and even then i had never read a cap book and was never even a fan. I always liked what Captain America stood for but always found him kind of boring. I loved Civil War, and i really became a fan of cap then so i decided to go back and read his series from the begining since i'd heard so many good things about it. Well i'm glad i did because this is now my favorite series to date. The art is great, and i love the way Ed Brubaker writes his stories. I felt more like i was watching a prime time series than reading a comic book. Brubaker successfully brings Cap into the modern era and once again Cap has become one of the most amazing characters in comics.

Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting capture everything that makes Captain America great!! This trade really gets the ball rolling into one of the best superhero epics ever. My only complaint is with the art in the 7th chapter by John Leon, as its such a departure from Epting's work it seems drastically out of place. Other than that, its hard to tell a better story.

Well I bought this book with the hope to read a graet story, but the art is just great but the story is too slow and boaring, I fellaslep many times.

Cap is awakened in the dead of the night by agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., who need the kind of help only he can provide. But the corpse he finds on the Heli-carrier brings him face-to-face with the unthinkable, and opens doors to terror and manipulation he never dreamed possible! LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby LeapFrog LittleTouch LeapPad Educational Book: Let's Get Busy, Baby

Reviews

My 2 year old twins love "Let's Get Busy Baby" and ask for the "pink baby" it all the time. They have had this book/cartridge for just about a year and absolutely love finding and interacting with the baby and his/her objects in this book. Their favorite page is still the baby face where they touch a part of the baby and then point to their corresponding part. It is highly durable. My boy twin loves to tear up every book he can find and I can say he has not been able to rip, tear, or chew this book apart. They even love to carry the book around for "independent" reading.

didn't know i was getting one with the leappad i bought so i guess i'll have to see if i could get it exchange... but it's a great...

Let's Get Busy Baby is fun and educational. My daughter received it for her first birthday, and she began to show interest in it when she was around 18 months old. She loves to sit in my lap and take her time on each page. We like that there are three different settings so there are many things to hear as you touch the items on the page. Now that my daughter is almost two, she frequently plays with her Little Touch Leap Pad by hereslf, and this is the book she always goes for!

Ok, so there are two sayings that I use ALL THE TIME. One is "Ya'll ready ta hit this party?" and the other is "Let's get busy, baby!" So you can just imagine my excitement when I realized that the latter had been turned into a baby learning device. And it's good! If you want your baby "gettin into it" and "doin it to it," then this software is perfect for you. Do you picture your baby in a little pantsuit with a tiny suitcase, crawling out your door to work in the morning? Does that seem like just a far-off dream? Well not anymore, baby! Cause baby, this is gonna get your baby busy, baby! You think babies aren't able to attend quarterly stock review meetings at Hewlett-Packard? That's the way things USED to be. Now, not only can babies attend those meetings, they can LEAD them. After this easy-to-follow course, your baby will be able to recognize its nose, a banana, and shoes. After that, all you need to add to the mix is the aforementioned suit and briefcase, and your baby's gonna get busy all over the place! Now get to work, baby!

We have 4 Little Touch books in all and this one is the best for a baby. This one has the most to offer for a baby under one. Even though the whole system says it is for 6 months and up, I found very little until this book held my baby's interest. My big kids enjoy helping their baby sister explore her LeapPad, too.

There are many different kinds of toy soldiers, including tin soldiers or flats, hollow cast metal figures, composition figures, and plastic army men. Toy soldiers are traditionally sold in sets, but modern, collectible figures are often sold individually.
