So far I have only used this burner for homebrewing beer, but I will no doubt someday give deep fried turkey a go and maybe even a crab boil. What my experience tells me so far is that this is a VERY powerful burner. They aren't kidding when they say 150,000+ BTUs. I am able to bring 5 gallons of water to a boil in less than half the time that it took me to do the same thing on my gas (kitchen) stove. In fact, I have found this burner to be so powerful that once I have achieved the temperature I want in my pot (usually boiling), I can maintain that temp with this thing barely even turned on. Thus, since instances where you need the "pedal to the metal" are rare and of relatively short duration, this burner doesn't gobble up propane the way I expected it to. I also appreciate that this burner has a fully enclosed wind-screen, keeping the effect of wind on the flame to a minimum. All in all, this is a great product at an incredible price (mine was under forty bucks with free shipping). Highly recommended!

This thing is great if you were previously trying to boil 7 gallons of liquid on your kitchen stove. At full blast it gets water to a boil in about ten minutes. I think the picture they show is an older version, the new one has a braided gas line. The only bad thing about this is the paint. The first time I used this, I thought the EPA was going to be knocking on my door, all of the paint burns off and the smell is horrible. Even after three uses I still get that smell. Also don't leave it out in the rain. I made that mistake and now its covered in rust since all of the paint burned off. Overall I still recommend it, you can't beat the price and the free shipping.

ordered the product after reviewing the product seems great but the shipping is very SLOW... 5-9 business days is what it claims but after ordering it is telling me 17-24 days for shipping totally aggravated with the incompetence of amazon shipping.

I am cooking with large pots. Recently purchased the CanCooker. This burner does the trick to rapidly bring my cooking temp to where I need it. No issues with this product.

Bought the 36 qt SS kettle and needed an outdoor setup. Got this version since it had a nice wind guard. Been getting 4 batches per tank and rocks a boil in about 30-40 min. Only reason I give it a 4.5 on the stars is the paint, horrible smell burning off on your first use, but is gone after that. Is a great burner. Would recomend the Bayou Classic KAB4 High Pressure Banjo Cooker if you don't mind having to purchase more propane.

Last year I obsessed about cleaning my tile. It turned out that it wasn't the tile that was dirty, it was the grout! After researching everything I could get my hands on, questioning all my friends and neighbors, I tried everything that was recommended. Most took lots of scrubbing or they just didn't work. I wanted something that worked, didn't stink, and didn't leave dangerous chemicals that might harm my pet. This one does take a little scrubbing, but works really well. I haven't found anything I like better.

Used as directed with FloorMate. Also used directly on grout with a brush. Used it full strength, used it diluted. Even let it stay on grout for about 15 minutes. No one of those methods did anything!! Save your money. You'll get as good results using almost anything else. Perhaps most disappointing product I've used in 10 years.

I purchased this grout cleaner after trying several products to get crayon out of the grout on my kitchen floor (my 2 year old decided to color the floor when I wasn't looking) and of course, I had to get on my hands and knees with a brush, but with warm water and this product the crayon came out! I was disappointed when Wal-Mart decided not to carry this product anymore. I have been looking around for it but haven't found it at all, the price I originally purchased it for around $4.89. It's a great product and well worth the price, when you consider it restores your grout to looking like "new" again.

I have used this FloorMate Grout-Cleaning solution on my tile kitchen floor and the results are amazing. I will use this product forever.

The products that I purchased were available from Amazon.com. I purchased these items from Amazon.com because I was unable to purchase them from local retailers. I have used these items in the past and these were the exact items I needed for my Hoover Floor Mate Cleaner. Thank you for having the items in stock.

Nice heavy rolling pin with smooth action. We have used it for a little over a month with no problems. The pin is heavy so make sure you have convenient place to store it. Makes a great gift for a baker, just include a dough scraper.

Love it. makes rolling dough out much faster. Should have bought this years ago!

This is a great product at a good price. I use these in craft work, and will definately be buying these again.

this marble rolling pin is heavy enough that you have a good grip for rolling your dough. I use it on a marble tray, it matches perfectly and it is not sticking. Pretty cheap for the quality!

My mom has one of these that she got for her wedding about 40 years ago. Well of course back then they were like 200.00. The price is great and it works even better. NO WORK rolling pin. It is very heavy but that is what makes your job easier. I love this product

Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse Logitech Trackman Marble Mouse

Love this trackball. Have to keep one at the office, in my home office, and in my travel bag.

I am of the move-the-mouse-around-the-pad generation. I attempted to use a friend's mouse of this similar type and just hated it. Could not figure out how to use it. Then I used my brother-in-law's. It was this exact model. I don't know what it was, but with very little trial-and-error I was moving around the screen. I was enamored by it so much that I went home and looked into the purchase of one. I probably would not have considered a trackball type, but my husband and I were both complaining that our conventional mouse kept going off the side of the pad since we'd bought a 22-inch monitor. We were constantly having to lift the mouse and replace it on the pad to get to one side of the screen or the other. I had tried changing the speed of the mouse, but my husband's eyes don't track as fast as mine and it wasn't working for him. Once installed, our mousepad was gone and this Trackman Marble just sits in one place on the desk. It has left-/righthand capabilities which is perfect for me as I'm ambidextrous, although I keep it on the right for my husband. The mouse on my other computer is on the left. :-) It did take a bit getting used to now that I was using it exclusively. The small buttons located above each larger one scroll/cruise the screen down or up depending on the left or right one you press. Or, at least, this is how my buttons are set. This is a bit funky and I still error in the up and down choice, but it's never frustrated me. I sometimes have a bit of trouble setting the pointer/cursor directly where I want, but this is usually when I'm moving things numerous times. This could just be eye/hand coordination, fatigue, whatever. In most instances I find my mark quickly and move on. I love the facts that the stationery ball does all the moving, my mouse literally stays in one place, my fingers do all the work versus my whole hand and arm, and my desk is clear of that darn pad.

Seriously, I've been a Logitech Marble Mouse addict for almost ten years now. I just bought two more because I tried to use those other kinds of mouses (that you have to move around on a pad) with two of my laptops, because I wanted mini mouses for them, and it was a constant drag. Now all my computers have marble mouses and I'm a very happy girl. I am left-handed and, while these are not made especially for left-handed people, they are a joy to use either way. Your hand doesn't get crampy and it's super easy on the wrist. The shape of the marble mouse is truly conducive to pretty much any size of hand. I even got my husband using them with both his work computer and his at-home laptop, and he has very large hands. I have average sized girl-hands and we enjoy an equal degree of comfort from our mouses. I find that the action is precise and every bit as fast as I want it to be. The software has gotten better over the years so it is easy to make any adjustment to customize your mousing experience. It is not necessary to install the software, but I did with my most recent mouse purchases because I like to speed it up a bit and tweak the actions to my liking. They last forever. In nearly ten years I have never had one die on me. I have simply purchased more of them to get the newer models over the years.

I need a mouse alternative due to mouse pain. I edit videos and the Marble Mouse buttons can be customized to scroll but Adobe After Effects doesn't recognize this function. Plus I found the construction uncomfortable as my hand couldn't really rest but had to hover to work on the mouse. I'm returning both of the (I needed two) and am buying the one with the needed roller in the hopes it is more functional and comfortable.

Purchasing the Logitech Trakman mouse was really an experiment for me. My right elbow and writst was hurting due to 8 years of working on computers for my job. I chose the ambidextrious trakman because I am ambidextrious and wanted to use my left hand rather than my right hand. I was told it would be hard to adapt to the trakman coming from a mouse. WRONG, it took only a few minutes for me to fall in love with this ingenious product. You don't have to move anything but your fingers. It is much easier on your arms, elbows and wrists. In fact, the wrist and elbows are not even involved in moving the cursor. And the programing for the "back" button is great.

This item is a discontinued item and if you have a problem Logitech will not help you. Suggest you get the less expensive one which IS still manufactured.

I used to be a CAD draftsman-- a mouse-intensive activity, often with tense deadlines. I would get hand spasms from using my dominant (right) hand so much for hours on end. Other people I know have trained their non-dominant hand to use a regular mouse, to give their dominant hand a break. I'm too uncoordinated for that. But I found it relatively easy to train my dumber hand to use the Logitech Marble Mouse. Unlike a conventional mouse, positioning the pointer and clicking buttons is done entirely with separate fingers, so finger control doesn't need to be quite as good. Sure, it's A LITTLE slower than the mouse with my smarter hand-- and I don't have more than two buttons, nor a scroll-wheel. (Actually, a third button can be simulated by playing a "chord" with the two buttons simultaneously, but I haven't found that feature very useful.) If given a choice between greater speed for a year until I "mouse-out," and continuous productivity at a slightly slower pace (going on 10 years now), I choose the latter. I'd argue that point to any employer: groups like OSHA and the Calif. Worker's Comp. system would back me up. Preserving my hands for playing music is also really, really important to me.

This is the absolute best device for controlling your computer. I've used these for over 10 years, and have owned over 4 now. They are all *still* working. Of all my vast numbers of computer equipment, this is the ONLY thing that survives. I absolutely love this thing.

I bought the Logitech optical marble trackball mouse; used it for 2 weeks; MAJOR PROBLEM: no scroll wheel. The software that comes with it lets you scroll with just a click, HOWEVER, it did not work for all applications: For some websites the scrolling was fine, but for others - including my email on AOL and GMAIL - it did not work at all; and on some sites the scrolling was very hard to control. I then bought the KENSIGNTON K72337US ORBIT TRACKBALL WITH SCROLL RING for PC or Mac. FAR SUPERIOR! First of all, there's no software to install - you plug into your USB and you're ready to go, just like a regular mouse. Then, the SCROLL RING is fantastic - it's even better than the scroll wheel on a regular mouse. It gives you better control and a greater scrolling range than the scroll wheel on a regular mouse. Also, the Kensington is not as bulky as the Logitech. I returned the Logitech and am happily using the Kensington for over 2 months now. Kensington K72337US Orbit Trackball with Scroll Ring for PC or Mac

It has been years since I bought anything made by Logitech. Past experiences were that Logitech devices just stopped working after a few months, couldn't get support, and had to pay more for new drivers than I paid for the device itself. But I took a chance on this because I liked the feel of it and needed a new trackball after changing jobs. Well that was a mistake. After about six weeks the motion started getting jerky and then just stopped. Cleaning didn't help. I won't make this mistake again - Logitech makes junk.

All the Marbles [VHS] All the Marbles [VHS]

A great movie. I enjoyed it when it came out. I had it on VHS, but do not have a player. So I bought in on Dvd, so I can enjoy the movie again ith my family.

"...All the Marbles" for about the first two-thirds is a standard sports flick with most cliches intact. Even Peter Falk who normally elevates even the most mundane material gives an OK performance as the promoter of two gorgeous lady wrestlers. The film redeems itself immeasurably in the end with the showdown at the MGM Grand between Falk's Dolls and their chief rivals. It's a thrill-a-minute affair that's neatly choreographed that'll have you on the edge of your seat. Director Robert Aldrich's final film requires patience and you'll be rewarded in the end.

hey go over to the warner brothers sight it's Part of the Warner brothers Archive collection it becomes available on August 4th get an official not boot legged copy I'm ordering mine now

This fun title has been heavily bootlegged. If you see it on sale as a DVD, it's a cheap copy. Unfortunately, illegal copies of this movie on tape (usually claiming to be an x-rental in hard case) are also being sold. This rare movie is valued at about $40, if you see it for less, read the seller's condition comments carefully. Be sure to look for words like 'original' or 'authentic' in the seller's listing, words that a bootlegger rarely uses. I ordered this movie, and instead a cheap copy that didn't even play well came in the mail. I have included a picture of it on the product page- the bootleg on the left and an authentic tape on the right for comparison. Just click on 'see all 2 customer images' to see how to recognize a bootleg so you won't get ripped off like I was!

"All The Marbles" (or at one point called "The California Dolls") is one of our families favorite movies. My brother, can watch this movie over and over and over. I think he knows most of the dialogue. I hope this comes on DVD soon. I have a copy on VHS that I taped off of TV years ago. I did convert it to a DVD format, but still not the greatest quality. Hopefully sometime soon, the studio will release a DVD. Until then, I'll just keep watching my VHS or homemade DVD. Love the end - Double Sunset flip - LOL!!!

Hungry Hungry Hippos Hungry Hungry Hippos

This toy hurts! You have to assemble the game each time you want to play. Snapping the hippos into the blue base is a bit difficult but getting them out really hurts your fingers. You have to pinch the tabs underneath the base which is no easy feat. Unless you leave the game out of the box when storing you have to do this each and every time the kids want to play it. Makes me cringe every time. The construction is a bit flimsy as well. Not as sturdy as the old version when I was a kid.

My 4 year old LOVES this game! I played it when I was a child and now bought it for him. We play at least once a week.

My daughter wanted this from Santa but I must say it is junk. Besides no real learning value, it is of very poor quality. The mouths of the hippos often stick and/or the hippo comes out of the slot that holds it in. So don't waste any money on this useless so-called game. Also, it's not very easy to store (i.e. after wasting so much time trying to get the hippos to stay on the board, you certainly wouldn't want to take them off and put the so-called game back in the box.)

This game was recently added to our family game night and we enjoyed it very much. A must have for families with young children.

As noted in other reviews, the quality is very poor. In addition to the common problems listed, ours has a tendency to push the marbles. This takes all the fun out of the game. My family had a lot of fun with the original when we were kids. Too bad my kids won't enjoy the same experience.

The Classic Tinkertoy Construction Set The Classic Tinkertoy Construction Set

Reviews

I bought these to supplement a smaller set that did not have enough parts for elaborate constructions. This set certainly does. There are enough pieces that my two kids don't even fight over them and they almost never have to take apart what they have just built to have enough pieces to make something else. The pieces that are supposed to glow in the dark don't glow well but since they are never played with in the dark it is not a problem...

Although there are a few plastic hinged pieces now, this is still pretty much the same classic toy. The kids seem to have as much fun making specific things as they do just putting pieces together and making nothing in particular. Probably the toy played with most since Christmas.

We thought that we were getting glow-in-the-dark Tinkertoys. These aren't. Only the flags glow in the dark. We were very disappointed.

The product is great! I enjoyed these very much as a kid, and now my grandson is as well. My only negative response would be that I feel the product is terribly over priced. People who are not familiar with "tinker toys" (I have found there are a lot), won't pay that amount. I would hate to see these no longer available for kids to learn great building, and construction skills.

I bought this set for my grandchildren and they love it. But I was hoping to get a set that was like the one I had when I way a boy. Although this set has some different parts it lacks at least one of the parts of the old sets. The biggest problem with this set so far is that size of the holes in the round wheels and connectors seem to be of inconsistent size and the sticks will not stay in some of them. Also, there is no instruction book or plans for things to build in this set so the kids have no guidance on what to build. Overall this set is pretty good and someone who never played with the old sets will be satisfied.

Beneath a Marble Sky: A Love Story Beneath a Marble Sky: A Love Story

Reviews

I didn't get what I was looking for in this book. When I read a Sharon Penman historical fiction, or David Liss, Bernard Cornwell, Alison Weir, maybe Philippa Gregory, I know I'm reading fiction but I do feel I'm getting educated a bit about the world and times those authors' characters are living in. Many of these authors also have lists of books consulted or include Author's Notes to inform us of where they have taken creative license with history to aid in the telling of their story. So let's say I'm reading this Shors novel in a total state of ignorance about 17th-century India. Too bad for me. The amount of real history here could be summed up in one or maybe two tidy paragraphs of information anybody could find in a perfunctory Google search. The bulk of this book is just a mass market paperback historical romance. Now, that genre is my guilty pleasure. Sometimes I feel like eating pizza and sometimes I feel like reading a good romance. When I compare Shors' book to a superior historical romance, however, his does not come out on top. His characters lack dimension and the writing felt flat. His book was an overbaked cheese pizza with no toppings.

Given the numerous great reviews for this book, I had high hopes and recommended to my book club. Unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed -- everyone hated it! There was no character development and the story dragged terribly.

I am so bummed this author has only three books out. I read all of them and they were all really well written. I particularly enjoyed Dragon House. I related more to that book on a personal level. I would recommend all of his books. Now on a different note. This book was in perfect condition and I received it within a couple of days. I would recommend this seller to anyone.

I really enjoyed this artistically written story. I love a good historical fiction and this is at the top of my favorites! It made shopping for holiday gifts for my book-loving friends easy! I'll be keeping my out for another book by this author.

I was so excited to get this book but was sorely disappointed within the first 20 pages. I do know a lot about the mogul empire and practices and I was shocked that the restrictions imposed by the harem were totally ignored by the author. Jahanarah was Begum Sahib, she would not have been allowed to leave the harem, nor would she have been allowed to be touched by anyone of a lower rank. Further, her mother the empress not only leaves the harem unveiled but touches men other than her husband, it just wouldn't have been done. Other errors pertain to Arjumand's heritage; (her aunt was Nur Jahan, empress to Emperor Jahangir) she was no common shop girl, and other major aspects that should have been researched. Yes, this book is well written, with beautiful description and detail, but.... For someone who is not familiar with the Mogul empire and court this book will most likely be entreating and diverting, but for those who value a well researched historical fiction novel: Don't waste your time.

My Secret Bully My Secret Bully

Reviews

I purchased this book for my 9 year old daughter and found it to be overly simplistic. Very short story (pitched at about a 2nd grade reading level) with only one practical suggestion about what to do. There was a list of 8 tactics at the end, but they were so generic (tell the bully to stop; report it to an adult; use humor to deflect bullying...) and so lacking in examples that my daughter's response to every one was "I tried that; I already do that." This type of bullying typically occurs when girls hit fourth grade through middle school, yet the content of the book comes across as something you would read to a much younger child. Very disappointing.

I have used this book in my third grade classroom to enlighten my students on an aspect of bullying that isn't wildly discussed. We usually deem a bully as someone who is beligerent, loud and ALWAYS cruel. But after reading this book, children begin to see that a friend might also be a bully in disguise. Consult Webster's dictionary for the word "frenemy." A frenemy is one who pretends to be a friend but is actually an enemy. This book openly discusses just that subject - having a "friend" who in reality is an enemy.

It is fantastic to finally see a book out there for school age girls who are victims of relational bullying. My only concern about this book is how quickly the matter seems to resolve in the end. I think the author does a great job setting it up, describing how relational bullying happens. I just wish there was a little more attention paid to the longer term impact on the victim as well as the difficulty of the situation in general. Overall a great book and one I'm thrilled to have in my library!

The book came in excellent condition and has been an amazing conversation starter for classroom meetings with 5th and 6th graders!

I am so amazed, every scenario in this book was happening in my school. The children listened as I read the book and the eyes, the facial expressions, the comments, and their reviews were astounding. This book along with Ms Ludwig's other book has been a valuable resource for our Anti-bullying curriculum.

Colossal Youth Colossal Youth

Reviews

I loved the Collosal Youth album back in the early 80's and to now have this collection is vital. A classic album the music haunts my memories past and present. If music were this beautiful then lot's of the over produced stuff today would be better off. Raw and ripe this music bites and allows you to join the taste.

I've been trying to remember when and how I first heard of Young Marble Giants. My best guess is that it was reading one of the 1980s editions of Ira Robbins Trouser Press Guide. I also can't recall if I first discovered it on LP, cassette, or CD. I do know that I flipped over it on the very first listen. It simply didn't sound like anything else I was listening to. The closest to any other band I could come up with at the time was a few cuts by Wire, but really they don't sound like anyone else either before or since. This makes it difficult music to describe to someone else. I almost want to coin a description and call it Punk Pop Minimalism. That description would do as well as anything. Musically the songs are structured about bare bones guitar with thumping bass, backed by a drum machine (about the only time a drum machine has not driven me insane). Though to tell the truth, Stuart Moxham plays his guitar most of the time like a percussion instrument while brother Philip plays bass like it is the lead. Allison Statton sings so casually that you aren't convinced she is committed to sticking around until the end of the song. This might not sound like a recipe for an unforgettable album, but it turns out that it is. The album exists in a number of versions at this point. Originally it consisted 15 songs, later expanded in re-releases. But the version to get now is definitely the 3-disc, 46 cut reissue. It contains just about everything worth owning by YMG. You simply have to listen to this to understand how unique it is. "Taxi," for instance, consists of an exotic organ backed by bass and drum machine and no vocals except for some indecipherable talking at one point. But the result is haunting. "Looking for Mr. Right" is both playful and quirky. My favorite cut on the album, "Brand-New-Life," is in comparison with the rest of the album a hard driving rocker. All in all, I can't recommend this album highly enough. The word "original" is overused in talking of bands and musicians. This is one of the rare albums that truly is unique. Luckily, it is also very, very good. Buy it. Listen to it. Share it with your friends. All of you will be better for it.

The simplicity of a good and simple fantastic short and to the point song . Less is definitely more at it's origins . I was luky to have been at the time it came out . It opened my mind for the 80's . It put me in track , as Led Zepellin did in 1970 for the 70's , and u2 for the 90's and White Stripes for the Zeros . A historical event that compares to Robert Wyatt at his best . It's so minimal it defies borders . Electric Beauty to say the least , a purple rose in my garden ...

A certain claustrophobic vibe is here in this whole album, like there is an enormous amount rage just waiting to explode and yet it never does. After listening to enough loud and angry music to make my head explode, this album is a welcome detour. The melodies are amazing and the typewriter guitar can be hypnotic in combination with Alison's voice, which is beautiful in it's simplicity and reservedness (If that's a word). I've heard that the best music always draws you into it's world, and this album does that in spades. Colossal Youth is so brilliant that there is no way Young Marble Giants could ever top it, yet the closest is the quick glance at the band with the Peel Session. Still, whatever you do, do not start listening to the album with EP/Salad Days disc, because though it has the amazing "Final Days" the Salad Days album is mainly inferior versions of what is on Colossal Youth. The intensity is lacking on Salad Days making Salad Days the weakest part of the collection. All in all, I agree with another reviewer that the best way to experience the band for the first time is with the Peel session, though the main course is Colossal Youth.

I never write these, I do read alot of them though. I grew up with this band, along with their cousins Weekend and The Gist. I never get tired of listening to their transcendental music. This collection of their music is what a reissue is all about. Read Chris bct's review as he pretty much says what my thoughts are and says it well. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. Your friends will appreciate hearing it too. This is a definite desert-island pick for me.

I've owned a couple of early Marillion releases for quite some time. Most notably SFAJT and Fugazi. Both are outstanding albums. However, I never really listened much after Fish left the band. Actually, I haven't heard any of Hogarth's stuff until I listened to this album. Well, I was actually pleasently suprised by this album. Invisible Man started out kind of slow, not really a problem, but then it just kicked it up about 10 notches to the finale. Now, I know a lot of die hard marillion fans are going to hate me for this .. but .. I don't think I ever heard this kind of emotion come out of Fish. The entire album just reeks of soul. Pure emotion .. Now, that's not to say I think Fish's stuff wasn't good .. Actually, it was great. I just think Hogarth shows a hell of a lot more emtotion, especially in this album. Besides "The Invisible Man", which may be the only pure-prog track on this album, other highlists include "Ocean Cloud" despite the apparent Pink Floyd rip-off in the middle. It features some pretty powerful drumming and some cool bass lines near the end. Now onto Neverland, probably my favorite track on the album. This is one of the greatest album closers I have ever heard. It's definately up there with "heart of the sunrise", "Evil Karn 9", "Supper's Ready". Not really in terms of technical ability and whatnot .. However, it just closes the album on a perfect note. This is the emtoion I am talking about. It's absolutely brilliant. Great, great bass lines thrown in here too. In short, this is a very well done album. Not REALLY prog. Again, this is quasi-prog. If you're a diehard straightfoward PROGRESSIVE fan: You might want to stay away. However, if you're pretty open about your music and don't mind the emtional stuff over the technical stuff, then this album is for you! It's not great, but it's very pleasing on the ears.

This is a revision to the review I submitted on June 23rd. At that time I had listened to 'Marbles' three times and felt that was ample spins to rate and review the album...Well I spoke too soon. This release has more to it than I originally gave credit. What changed my mind you ask?...simple answer...watching the DVD 'Marbles on the Road'(extended 2 DVD set). Something about visually seeing the music of Marbles made me see/hear some beautiful music that I failed to get from the Audio CD...now I hear something I like in most of the tunes(even the 4 marble theme songs). Fantastic Place is, without a doubt, my favorite song...the chorus going into "Take me to the Island" part is the stuff (the "hooks" I spoke of in first review) that makes the hairs stand up...very moving! So I am bumping the 3 star rating to at least 4 stars and may eventually revise it to a higher rating after further listens/viewings. For anyone who hasn't seen the accompyning DVD of Marbles, I would STRONGLY recommend it...just make sure you get the extended version (available only from Marillion's website) as it includes the rest of the show...most notably 'Afraid of Sunlight','King' and 'The Great Escape'.

This is a eclectic collection of synchronizing harmony. "The Damage" happens to be one of my favs of this CD, "Don't Hurt Yourself" gives a glimpse of why we all need to appreciate the small things in life. Marillion has been and will always be innovative demi-gods in an often mundane industry. Those who are not familar with Marillion are truly missing out.

Ever since the days of Derek Dick aka Fish back in the 80's, Marillion while under the influence of Steve Hogarth aka H, not to mention Fish's replacement, has taken Marillion and their legion of fans on an adventure ever since. Since the conceptual masterpiece which was to become Brave 10 years earlier, the band have returned for which is perhaps their finest work since that very album. Afraid Of Sunlight was fantastic, This Strange Engine of 1997 also was very good, Radiation from 1998 was interesting and perhaps their weakest link. Marillion.com which was to be released a year later was a slight improvement over Radiation yet still didn't seem to capture the spirit of Marillion to it's entirety. Anoraknophobia which came out 2-3 years later was even more of an improvement yet again. That was a step in the right direction to what was to become the concept of MARBLES!!! Now the ironic thing is that this album was financed by many of their fans. The fans wanted an album so vadly that they decided to donate funds for the band. So the band simply didn't want to let their fans down especially as it wasn't their money. And hey hey my my did they deliver. Marbles is truly a album of sheer beauty. I'll be reviewing the 2 CD Campaign Edition which is only available at their website www.marillion.com. Every song on this album stands out. There is not even a weak song at all. Notable favourites include The Invisible Man, Fantastic Place, Ocean Cloud, Don't Hurt Yourself, You're Gone (which hit the UK Top 10 at #7 much to their surprise), Angelina and Neverland. Each member of the band plays their hearts out. They really did not let their fans down including myself. On the Campaign Edition set each of the fans that donated to the production of Marbles were included in the booklet. Kind of something like on the Lord Of The Rings Extended Editions where the LOTR fan club members names were listed at the end of the credits. Now if ever you get the chance, go get the DVD Marbles On The Road. You get to see them perform the album live though it's only the 1CD version. You really get to appreciate the album more in it's live environment. I found it to be very moving. Marbles is by far one of their finest works since Brave and I do find that it's going to be very hard to top that. I look forward to another album for Marillion even if I need to donate something towards production.

La Stupenda ~ The Supreme Voice of Joan Sutherland La Stupenda ~ The Supreme Voice of Joan Sutherland

Reviews

She wasn't called La Stupenda by the Italians for nothing. Now retired, a truly great voice. I don't think I shall hear anything like her again. Worth every penny. Magnificent recording.

This 2 CD set is entitled "La Stupenda," which creates extremely high expectations. Joan Sutherland meets those expectations on this CD; she is, indeed, "La Stupenda." One of the interesting aspects of this set is Dame Joan's singing some non operatic works (such as "Home Sweet Home" or "Where Are the Songs We Sung?" or "Falling in Love with Love"). In the end, this is a wonderful compilation of the art of Joan Sutherland. First, let's consider a sampling of the cuts on these CDs. "O Zittre Nicht" is from Mozart's "Magic Flute" and it is a challenge to sopranos, with its series of staccato high notes. Sutherland essays this well. There are some nice trills; she hits the high notes well. The series of (treacherous) high notes toward the end is handled very nicely by Sutherland. In short, she scintillates, with a closing high note well hit. From Donizetti's "Linda di Chamounix," she sings "O luce di questi'anima." Her voice and technique are well suited for Donizetti (and Bellini). The cantabile is smoothly sung. The cabaletta is rollicking. Her coloratura technique is on target; the ornamentation is compelling. There are trills, runs, high notes and other ornamentation well done. The close is nice (although there may be a bit of a scoop on the final high note). From "Beatrice di Tenda" (by Bellini), we hear ""Eccomi pronta. . .Deh, se un'urna." The cantabile is sung well. She hits notes clearly. The spirited cabaletta follows. Sutherland exhibits somewhat less ornamentation than usual, but trills are well done and, overall, the piece is nicely sung. The close features clean high notes. "Home Sweet Home." This kind of illustrates Joan Sutherland's work nicely. I can hardly make out the words (and it is sung in English). But it is an interesting version. She sings the song straight, without overpowering the song with operatic technique (an occasional trill actually works out well). Elsewhere, I have commented on her 1959 version of the "Mad Scene" from "Lucia di Lammermoor" (from her album "The Greatest Hits"). "Falling in Love with Love" is an interesting cut. This is a classic Rodgers and Hart song. Sutherland sings it pretty well, and one can pick up the words cleanly. However, one might compare this with Anna Moffo's version, which is more musical. Sutherland's version is a bit too operatic for what the song is about. Finally, "Ah non giunge" from Bellini's "La Sonnambula," a great coloratura tune! This is taken at a sprightly pace. Sutherland exhibits good coloratura technique. There is nice ornamentation. She precisely nails high notes. In the repeat, the florid singing ramps up. This is a compelling version, with series of staccato high notes to close the work out. Thus, this 2 CD set is a welcome entrée to the body of work of Dame Joan Sutherland. Sometimes (as with "Home Sweet Home") one has a hard time picking out the words. But with Sutherland, the skills and techniques create a compelling oeuvre that is well worth attending to.

I'm not an opera expert I just enjoy it. La Stupenda has the best of Joan Sutherland in a two CD set and it's amazing. She looked like a nice, quiet housewife but an indescribalbe voice. Her aria from Norma gave me chills and her version of "I Dreamed I Dwelt in Marble Halls" is flat out one of the prettiest things I've ever heard.

Joan Sutherland was undeniably one of the greatest operatic sopranos of the 20th century. This comprehensive two-CD retrospective of her long career will delight her many fans, and serve as a fitting introduction for those unfamiliar with her artistry. The two CDs span a period of nearly thirty years, from 1959 to 1988, with the majority of the 27 tracks recorded during the 1960s and 1970s, when her voice was at its' astounding best. Sutherland was renowned first and foremost as a dramatic coloratura, and her supple technique is brilliantly illustrated in selections such as the Mad Scene from Lucia di Lammermoor; Doll Song from The Tales of Hoffmann; Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute; and the seldom-performed Concerto for Coloratura Soprano by Gliere. As her career progressed, her voice became larger and more powerful, as demonstrated by the Liebestod from Wagner's Tristan and Isolde, and In Questa Reggia from Puccini's Turandot. Lastly, Sutherland was a diva who was not afraid to let her hair down once in a while, and we are treated to lighter selections such as Where are the songs we sung? by Noel Coward, and Falling in love with love, by Rogers and Hart. Highly recommended for all lovers of great singing.

I adore this woman's voice. And I love this cd. I was really happy to find an aria of "Esclarmonde" which is virtually impossible to find as well as some of the more lesser known works of hers such as Mozart's Queen of Night, although I wish she had done a recording of the revenge aria (Der Holle Roche) The whole cd was wonderful to hear but if I had to make on complaint it's that I didn't buy her Isolde's Liebestod but the woman can sing Lucia better than just about anyone so I'll forgive her for not sticking with the Wagner. In fact I am thrilled that she chose Lucia over Isolde because frankly acting and interperation was never her strong suit, it was the pure beauty of her voice. It's always a grand pleasure to listen to Joan kick butt in any coloratura arias but of course she set the bar so high that there is yet a coloratura since her that can do those arias half as well. She has spoiled me for life and that's why she is La Stupenda.

I did not realize the granite has to be covered with sealer when I installed new counters and gues what, I put an oil stain on it the very next day. This incident prompted me to do a search on the internet and I found this product recommended by many. I ordered it from Amazone and applied to my counters a few days ago. Application was very easy and so far it works great: no more stains and no "wet spots" from spilled water (unlike oil they dry out eventually). Two things to note: - a quart is wa-a-ay too much for a 50 sq foot surface. I used probably about 20% of the bottle and I still had to wipe a lot of sealer after second application. - wear rubber gloves when you apply it. It does not feel like an aggressive liquid, but I did not wear gloves and my skin was hurting after I finished

This product is a god sent!!! I just had my Giallo Ornamental granite installed about a month ago. I noticed a stain after a few days (my wife spilled oil on the granite) after the installers left. I was sick, thinking my granite was ruined. I purchased the Oil Stain Remover, (Tech EX6-16 1-Pint Oil Stain Remover for Natural also from Stonetech) also for sale on Amazon, to get rid of the stain. Once I removed the stain I sealed the granite with 3 coats of the Bulletproof Stone Sealer. Once I was done treating my granite I tested an area by putting a good amount of water and let it sit for a few hours. To my amazement, the water pooled up and sat there like a waxed car and never was absorbed!!!! This product actually works :)

After doing my research I purchased this to seal our granite countertops as a good comprimise between cost/performance. I applied by pouring a little at a time onto the counter and then spreading/brushing with an unused paint brush. I let it mostly dry and then went over my counter a second time just to make sure. Not 100% sure how well it penetrated the backsplash or edge (vertical surfaces) as it is pretty runny. However they are not the surfaces you are primarily concerned with anyway as liquid won't pool on them. One note - it did seem to haze the clear caulking around my backsplash slightly. It mostly went away after a couple days so i think it was mostly me just noticing moisure buildup on/under the caulk.

We used this product to seal our granite in our kitchen. It was well worth the price we paid. We have sealed our granite twice before and could not tell the difference. This product is the very best by far for sealing porous granite tops. It was easy to apply and our granite never looked so good.

We too had White Kashmir granite countertops installed in our kitchen without realizing just how porous they were. Just putting down a wet glass left black stains for a while although they eventually dried out. I tried a few other sealers without any luck. This sealer seems to have done the trick. Plus, this sealer did not have nearly as unpleasant an odor compared with others. I recommend this and will apply it again in a few months.

Diamond Hole Saw Set (6 PC) 5/32 Diamond Hole Saw Set (6 PC) 5/32 "- 1/2"

I was unsure of these bits before I bought them, based purely on the price. I was unsure of these bits when I received them and it looked like they were poorly dipped in glitter glue. I was completely sold on how well these worked when the 1/4" powered through the wine bottle I was working on with ease, no chipping or cracking...For the money I'm not sure you can get any better

only used the 1/4 in and 1/2 inch, both worked great, keep cool with water and make a wood template to hold bit, and cut away.

I purchased this set for drilling holes in some extremely hard porcelain tile. They worked exactly as needed. We ran them at a slower speed and kept them well lubricated with water while cutting/grinding. I can't speak to their long-term durability since we needed to make less than a dozen holes. I would suspect that with their small size and small cutting surface their useful life would be somewhat limited. Having said that, they were exactly what we needed since no other drill would make a dent in the tile. The nice size selection allows you create the exact hole size needed. Overall, I was very pleased with the price/performance ratio. This was purchased from hobbytoolsupply here on Amazon and shipping was extremely quick.

StoneTech Revitalizer Fresh Citrus Tile and Stone Cleaner Spray #RVR12-22S StoneTech Revitalizer Fresh Citrus Tile and Stone Cleaner Spray #RVR12-22S

Reviews

I've been using it for about 3 weeks for daily cleaning of our granite countertop, and I'm very happy with it. It easily cleans dry/wet spots, and it doesn't leave any smudges or film on the granite.

We have a large kitchen granite countertop, travertine master shower floor, one marble bathroom countertop, and one granite bathroom countertop and so we use this stuff A LOT! I think that it works really well and has a a fresh scent. I did run into some problems with my shower floor when I could not get the tiles looking clean while using the product. I thought that it was because of soap scum and I called the customer service number for StoneTech and spoke to an extremely helpful representative, George, who talked me through the process of cleaning my tiles. He told me that I had mineral deposits on the tile and taught me how to remove the deposits. I was very impressed with his expertise and the customer service that was provided. The only minor complaint that I have is that I noticed that my local grocery store sells a product which is also manufactured by DuPont and costs a lot less than StoneTech Revitalizer. The packaging looks very similar and so I wonder if the products are the same but one just costs a lot more.

Our granite installer recommended this product. It cleans and seals granite countertops. The product appear to do a good job at cleaning our granite countertops.

This product was also given to us by the granite installers. It keeps the counters clean and shiny. I have ordered and received a replacement bottle and have now ordered a third. My wife uses it every other day or so and I have to say the counters look great and by everything noted, it promises to protect as well.

I purchased this to remove hard water stains, as I've been using the Method granite cleaner for general cleaning. There was some information out there saying that this product would remove soap scum and hard water stains. I can say it does not remove the hard water stains. It does leave behind a faint residue film I can see on my tan brown granite under the right light conditions. My guess is that it is the fluorinated acrylic copolymer/sealer. So now I just use a razor blade, elbow grease and Method Granite Cleaner on occasion. From http://www.eskandaristone.com/care_guide.htm Bath and Other Wet Areas Periodic use of Revitalizer(tm) will remove any soap scum or hard water deposits that may have formed. In the bath, or other wet areas, using a squeegee after each use can minimize soap scum and hard water deposit buildup.
