Blue's Clues is an American children's television show which aired on Nickelodeon. It premiered on September 8, 1996, and ran until 2006. Versions of the show have been produced in other countries, most notably in the United Kingdom. It was created by a "green team" of producers, Todd Kessler, Angela Santomero, and Traci Paige Johnson, who used concepts learned from child development and early-childhood education research to create a television show that would capture preschool children's attention and help them learn. They used the narrative format in their presentation of material, as opposed to the more traditional magazine format, and structured every episode the same way.

My son is 19 months old had has been fascinated with Blues Clues for the last couple months and he just loves this video! Now we can delete some of the ones that we have recorded on our dvr.

My kids have enjoyed Blue's Clues so much...and they like both hosts. Still, I find Steve a WAY funnier host than Joe. All I have to do is hear him playing "Sockpuppet" and I start laughing. (I know that sounds like a double entendre, but believe me, it's not.) Enjoy this DVD; your kids will!

My girl's (11m, 2 1/2 years, 4 years) love Blue and would watch it from sun up to sun down if I let them. I really love the puppet episodes. I had to give them both a sock for their toy chest to play with at will after watching the sock puppet episode. Blue's Clues is by far the best children's show we have found. It is just good, clean educational fun without an agenda attached. The characters are all cute and likable, and they all have a lot of rewatchability, even for parents.

My 2yr old just got into Blue's Clues and doesn't prefer Steve over Joe as far as we can tell but as parents we prefer Steve. His shows are a different pace and he has a more scholastic way of interacting with kids it seems. No offense to Joe, he's a great performer too and the 2yr old is just as engaged with him, but Steve's rythm was consistent on virtually every episode for the years he did the show. This DVD is all Steve so if your a Joe fan you won't find him. After several searches and reading several reviews this one seems to be the only DVD which offers Steve exclusively. As for content all the episodes are educational and engaging so really can't go wrong. Great product!

Great DVD. It is fun for kids and educational as well. The DVD is long, has a great quality and is worse the money.

After watching this video about a million times because my daughter loved it, we all learned the songs. It's very good for young kids and we like that it's engaging. Steve's silly hat has become a household joke.

I first rented this from Netflix and we ended up keeping it for more than a month. My girls (10m,2 1/2 and 4) couldn't get enough of it. I got it for my 4 year old on her birthday (Dec 25, 2009) and even after seeing it a gazillion times she wanted to watch it as soon as she saw the cover art. It is very entertaining and has a lot of re-playabilitly, even for parents. It is definitely great for those rainy days when they are bored. They really like the segment with G clef. It teaches a few music basics but don't expect your little ones to walk away with any understanding of music from this video, it is just good clean entertainment. Everything you expect from a Blue's Clues production.

Timely delivery. Product arrived in good shape. Great Blues Clues for kids. Educational. My daughter could watch this 10 times in one day if I would let her.

It is a great DVD. Blue is very funny and teaches kids all kinds of things. It is very nice to watch it and small kids love it. My daughter is learning different words from it and it teaches them how to solve problems or clues.

Me & my son love Blue's Clues but we especially like Steve. My 2 year actually learned how to imitate singing by watching this. The songs are very catchy and not hard to listen to. Ray Charles even makes a guest appearence as G clef. The only reason I reluctantly gave this all Steve DVD movie is because of the length. Its great in the car but at home my son gets bored with it about a half hour through. But besides that I think its worth the price if you have a toddler thats a Blue's Clues junkie like my son.

Blue bounds into her first feature-length film ready to sing. She gets sidetracked along the way, of course, but that's part of the brilliant Blue's Clues formula. Each half-hour TV show presents engaging, easy-to-grasp mini-mysteries that are within toddlers' reach...

My boys LOVE this, they have learnt to anticipate the clues, and have increased their vocab, to include more colours, events in their life. Thanks Blues Clues

This product came in a timely manner, and as afforded my daughter hours of enjoyment.

This is a cute Blues Clues DVD, but it's not actually my favorite. It's all of Blue's big moments, so it doesn't have as much of an educational twist to it as most. Cute to watch, but just not my favorite Blues Clues DVD.

Its a 4 hour drive to Grandma's house and, at 196 minutes long, this DVD has been a sanity saver in our family! We make the long trip to Grandma's several times a year and its great to know that I can stick this disc into my toddler's portable player and he will happily watch Blue for the entire drive. No need to stop and reload the player. No need to fiddle with the remote while I'm driving. More than three hours of quality entertainment for twelve bucks? If I could give it more than five stars I would!

Blue's Clues is an award-winning animated TV series where a human actor interacts with an animated blue puppy named Blue and various other animated characters to play a detective-style game (Blue's Clues). In the game, the human (Steve or Joe, depending on the season) tries to figure out what Blue is trying to tell him by finding a series of three clues and reasoning out their meaning. This is a viewer participation encouraged show, where Steve/Joe asks for YOUR help in finding the clues, solving puzzles and figuring out what Blue wants. This DVD is a mix of Steve and Joe episodes--I like that this one has Steve episodes in a row and then a transitional one and then Joe episode(s). One of the other DVDs alternates Steve, Joe, Steve, Joe--which tends to confuse my toddler who's most familiar with Steve. Episodes: 1)Blue's Birthday: a sweet episode--Steve even helps YOU give Blue a gift, a stuffed dog that shows up in later episodes and turns out to be "key" to the spin-off show "Blue's Room". 2)Treasure Hunt: a fun and creative episode, complete with a treasure map and a guest appearance by Steve's grandma! 3)Blue's Pajama Party: a good pre-bedtime episode, this one takes place at night so Steve spends the whole time trying not to fall asleep; ends with a bedtime story. 4) Magenta Gets Glasses: Features Miranda, Magenta's owner. Steve and Miranda are shy around each other--how cute! Apparently, this episode was not aired on TV. 5) Steve Goes to College: Transitional episode from Steve to Joe, Steve's little brother. Steve says goodbye and even calls YOU from college. Joe's all moved into the house to live with Blue and take over playing Blue's Clues. This episode is a bit emotional even though they try to keep it upbeat and you may have to explain around it if you watch other Steve episodes later...maybe Steve's home on Summer Break or something.... 6) Blue Takes You To School: a Joe and Blue episode. It's Perriwinkle the Cat's first day of School so Blue shows her the ropes. ---- 7) The Legend of the Blue Puppy: instead of playing Blue's Clues, Joe and Blue get a visit from Moona, the moon fairy, who tells a legend about when Blue was born (under a blue moon, of course) and shows Blue how to get to Blue's magical play Room. This is the introductory episode into Blue's Room. Blue's Room is a spin-off series with Blue as a talking muppet-esque puppet. Either you like these or you don't; they are very different from Blue's Clues. 8) Blue's Room Snacktime Play Date: another Blue's Room short. My toddler doesn't like Blue's Room, so we didn't watch this one. Not all of the Blue's Clues episodes are out on DVD and the DVD releases group the episodes by themes rather than seasons. Of the choices, this is one of the better mix of episodes--they aren't too similar, there are some Steve and some Joe episodes and a nice mix of auxiliary characters. With 6 Blue's Clues episodes and 2 Blue's Room shorts, this DVD is lengthy enough to spread out over a few days.

I have a special girl who is now 33. She sits and watches these and signs and laughs whit them. Great stuff for the little guys. She is about 3 to 4 mentally. She has even learned some things from them. Grand kids love them also.

Excellent for the start of ABC and 123 -

The ABC part is really a whole language reading lesson. Couple that with Dr. Suess's Hop on Pop and you can teach your kid to read. The 123 part teaches beginning addition. Very well done.

The title fooled me I bought this viseo. I bought it for my home daycare. I thought this would video to learn letters and begining count. This video is more advanced than that. It teachs words and begining math. It's a fun and well made video. It's jst not great for 18 to 2 1/2 yr olds. For that age group I'd suggest getting Sesame Street - 123 Count With Me, Sesame Street - The Great Numbers Game, Leap Frog - Letter Factory, & Sesame Street - The Alphabet Jungle Game

We've had this video for over 5 yrs. It is now making it's way into our 2nd son's video repetoire. My oldest absolutely loved Blue when he was 1 and 2 yo. These videos are helpful in that they teach thinking skills using fun songs and bright colors. It's no wonder that Blue's Clues is still in production all these years later.

The popular Nickelodeon Jr. show for the 2-4 age group does an excellent job of introducing simple vocabulary and numerical concepts in these two episodes. In the first, Steve and his dog Blue's house is labeled to discover what book Blue wants to have read to her...

My child loved this dog. Now she has outgrown it will be passed to others with VHS player who also enjoy the Blues Clues.

I have a special girl who is now 33. She sits and watches these and signs and laughs whit them. Great stuff for the little guys. She is about 3 to 4 mentally. She has even learned some things from them. Grand kids love them also.

My daughter is deaf and loves watching blue's clue, so I was some what disappointed with the limited signing. There was a small protion of consistent signing during story time, but that was a small segment. I was expecting signing throughout the entire tape.

When they say All Kinds of Signs. They mean all Kinds of Signs. My daycare kids love this video. It's really just induction to sign language as well as other signs such as street signs, bathroom sign etc. Blue's Clues - All Kinds of Signs is a cute helpful video just don't expect it to be a great sign language video.

This is an entertaining video. My son loves Blue's Clues...but not until he was about 2 yrs old. Earlier, he did not "get it" in terms of "finding a paw print". Another great Blue's episode that I am not sure is still out is "ABCs & 123s". At 25 months, I swear my son understands how READING works from this video! The counting part is really good too. My son tries to count everything! However, for those of you looking for more ASL sign language for kids, the BEST by far, are the series called Signing Times. website is www.signingtime.com There are six videos/DVDs in the series that increase in complication. The first one is "basic" signs like milk, eat, apple, more, etc. I started showing this to my son at 8 months and he was signing to ME from the highchair at 10 months. Then, I added the next volume(please, thank you, share, etc) to his viewing and so on. At 25 months, he knows over 50 signs and uses them. He sometimes can't make the sign exactly right with his hands...but,I know what he means to say and that is the goal (increased communication between you)! I must say, I've learned all the signs myself! Her style of teaching is entertaining and it sinks in! www.signingtime.com check it out.

These cake sprinkles are excellent for your PUPPY PARTY, but don't just use them for the cupcakes! Consider putting them on the tables as edible table confetti. It's very festive and if your little ones eat them, then there are no worries. Or make a yummy ice cream soda and top with whipped cream and few of these sprinkles. It all adds to the fun of a dog gone good DOG PARTY! And for your dog birthday, be sure to look also on Amazon for bone shaped cookie cutters, bone shaped cake molds, vending machine dog toys, and dog bone shaped candy molds (make chocolate bones for human consumption).Human Bones Candy Molds These fun ideas will make your puppy party truly memorable.

Excellent "dinosaur" bones to use on cookies and cupcakes. Would also look great on sides of cakes when used like confetti. Variety of colors will go with any color scheme. Tiny enough to eliminate worry of choking hazard for small children. Also would allow bigger kids a mouthful of color with each bite.

Blues Clues Balloon Blues Clues Balloon

Reviews

My husband bought this for our 18 month old daughter when she had eye surgery. The only reason why it seemed like a good purchase is because she had surgery and not because any balloon is worth eight to ten bucks. The balloon itself is good, lasted a long time and my daughter loved it but still the price tag on this thing is annoying. If you do buy it save it after it deflates and ask a party store near you to inflate it again, most will do it for free.

The balloon cost $5.95 & s&h was 4.99-- thank god the party store blew it up for free!

The result, Blue's Clues, has been called "one of the most successful, critically acclaimed, and ground-breaking preschool television series of all time". Author Malcolm Gladwell called the show "perhaps the 'stickiest'—meaning the most irresistible and involving—television show ever". Its innovative use of research, technology, and interactive content has influenced its genre since its debut, including the "gold standard of preschool TV programs" that inspired it, Sesame Street. It became the highest-rated show for preschoolers on commercial television, and received nine Emmy awards. Its efficacy in teaching children using the media of television has been documented in research studies.

Blue's Clues, shown in over sixty countries, was hosted by Steve Burns, who left the show to pursue a music career in 2002, and Donovan Patton. A spin-off called Blue's Room premiered in 2004.
