I bought this online hoping for better quality than the cheap plastic trucks at Toys R Us. I assumed (wrongfully) that since is was expensive and 'metal' it would be good. It turns out the cab and crane arm are metal, but everthing else is plastic and very cheap. If you want to pay a lot for a truck to sit on a shelf it will work. If your child actually wants to play with the truck don't buy it. Very cheap, broke almost immediately, thrown out soon thereafter.

I was a little disappointed with the Kenworth log truck. It looks good and there are a lot of nice features, but it is not very sturdy. The hitch for the trailer is very short and as a result the trailer doesn't stay connected when my son goes to pull it. We had to attach some weight to the bar where the trailer connects to the hitch. Also, the seat that is attached at the top of the truck, by the crane, fell off as we were removing it from the box.

I only give this item a generous 2 stars because the delivery and packaging of this item was quick, efficient and attractive. Yes, it looks nice even in person when it's all pacakged up but this truck was so poorly made. I bought this truck and another one by the same company for my 2 sons for Christmas (ages 3 & 6) and it's now January 4th, and both of the trucks are basically trashed and have been as of December 27th. My boys were not rough with these trucks and pieces have been snapping off left and right. The cabs of the trucks are metal but absolutely everything else on them is cheap and very breakable plastic. If you are buying this ONLY to look at it from afar - then it would be fine but any sort of movement will be sure to break something!

I bought this for my nephew who's a huge Cars' fan. He was very happy.

My two year old is very much into the movie "Cars" and he loves this car. If he were rating it, I have no doubt he would give it five stars or more. I gave it four stars due to the fact that it is a little bit bigger than hotwheels and matchbox cars, so occasionally it gets stuck in the Little Tykes train and track table, which frustrates my son. Additionally, he slides this car across the floor to hit it into things. He doesn't throw the car, but after only a couple times, the car looked like it needs a new paint job. Although he does this to all his cars, this is the only one that has had the paint chip off like that. So I can't help but wonder if they used a lesser quality paint on this one. But all in all, he does love this car, and I would buy it again.

Good quality car with nice shiny paint job. Unfortunately it looks more like a collectors item than a childs toy. The paint can scratch easily and it's about twice the size of a normal matchbox/hotwheels car. This car can not be used with hotwheels/matchbox playsets due to it's larger size from what I've seen so far.

Great truck for our 2 year old. We already have bruder trucks so we know that these toys are durable and more importantly safe. Not made in china so no concerns about lead in the plastics or paint

It is what it looks like. A big truck with a moveable backhoe and front loader. It's light weight and is plastic so it doesnt have any metal corners to worry about. My 2 year old brings it to bed.

This German made product is as tough as its heavier metal competitors. I now have 6 of these Bruder products at my home and have purchased another three for grandsons. When my grandsons visit, these are the first toys they drag out and play with during their entire stay. Many moving parts but yet very durable.

Product arrived on time and looked great! Nephew loves it. Mission accomplished! Would do business with them company again.

I asked that the toy be delivered prior to my grandson's 3rd birthday and it arrived in time for the birthday party and the break in Boston's weather to be enjoyed in the park before the rain arrived. The backhoe is the exact workhorse needed to complete my granson's corporation yard to repair any street from Boston's winter weather or install a new BIG DITCH along its harbor. I will use the same system to order another toy for the next celebration, whatever it may be....Thanks, From a greatfull Bompa

My son is 3-yrs old and he is infatuated with cars. I bought this for him because he loses them a lot since he has to carry one or two EVERYWHERE he goes. So far the cars perform well, they roll great on smooth surfaces. My only complaint, and this is a very small complaint, is that some of the cars are raised as if they are on hydraulics. My son likes to crash and smash his cars together so the ones that are raised slightly higher off the wheels have become damaged and by damaged I mean the wheels are kinda bent inward. Really small though since there are only one or two cars like that in the whole package of ten that he got. Overall I think the set is wonderful as far as sets of cars go.

My 5 year old grandson loves matchbox cars. I purchased the cars for him and he loves them. The cars are well made and safe for children to play with.

Wal Mart has these packs, plus 5 packs, and single packs for $1 per car. Save your money.

This backpack held up wonderfully all school year. It was in such good shape at the end of the year that I kept it as a spare. Good thing I did because the next years' backpack fell apart early in the year!

This item isn't a toy. The backpack is great. Plenty of room for lunchboxes and homework. My son loves it.

As a collector, I found this book while out of state on business at a local bookstore in Little Rock, AR for $25.00. I was very excited to receive this same book, as new, from a vendor with Amazon for less than 1/3 of the "new" price including shipping!! What's not to love??

Although the price from Amazon is very fair; save your money. This book isn't as good as you might be led to believe. For the very best and most definative information regarding Hot Wheels of the Redline era, you should look for The Ultimate Redline Guide by Clark and Wicker, 2nd edition. Although printed 4 years ago it is still the best.

I purchased this for my brother for Christmas, and he was really pleased. He is a Hot Wheel collector, and has a massive collection. He says that he pulls it out every few days to go through it again. Going strictly by his reaction to it, I would recommend it to anyone who has a strong interest in Hot Wheels.

The book had very high quality photographs and overall it appears to be a worthwhile reference book for HOT WHEELS collectors. So far, I have found no fault in it.

I have grown tired of the hotwheel books that focus on the entire product offering through the years. The Tomarts guides did a good job of covering early redlines, but it's job was, once again, to cover all hotwheels. The Spectraflame book takes it back to the start, covers the beginning and ends it right there (~'72). For the redline enthusiasts, this book will be a welcomed addition; good photos, notes, and definite focus. Is it 100% authoritative as a source? Others may be more qualified than me to scrutinize; all I know is my first car was the custom camaro along with a barebones strip track, I remember when the superchargers came out, adding a whole diminsion to track layout. I remember stalking the local stores when the spoilers came out(especially the nitty gritty kitty) I was in the Hotwheel club and received my chrome heavy chevy, while my friend got the boss hoss that I had hoped would come in my box. I had the tune-up tower, the sky show, and a few of the heavyweights, etc etc. So, I may not be an expert, but I was there and have been collecting off and on through the years. I enjoyed the book. What it lacks is more information of the track design and concepts. But, by its title "spectraflame", it owes none of that info to the reader.

What it's not, is a comprehensive pictorial of Tonka products. There's little there for the advanced toy collector. However, if you are one of those "collecting type" folks, that likes to "..know how the watch is built, instead of what the time is", ..then this book is really a pretty good read. It's abundant with factory and personnel history, including photos and profiles of the folks whose backs the Tonka brand was built on. A starting, or intermediate, Tonka collector should really put a copy in their library. Chapters are setup in year-groups, from the start of production, on to the early sixties. There are adequate photos of Tonka products to satisfy a 'shared read' with a youngster, and yet give the collector a proper specimin to compare his own pieces to. Photos and text contain the subleties of manufacturing changes, as the company advanced it's production through three decades. All, ...important information to the collector. These include numerous logo changes, important to identify the year of production of a piece. Introduction dates, colour schemes, rarities, employee profiles, and histories of product creation fill out the colourful 160 pages. A good buy for the money, for the "nubie" Tonka collector.
