LeapFrog: Word Whammer Fridge PhonicsReviewsA NOTE ON COMPATIBILITY: When my little girls started walking around, I purchased the Leapfrog alphabet for my fridge that she could learn her letters. As our little girl got older she started being able to tell between lower case and uppper case letters so we got her a lower case set. A short couple of years later my little girl was spelling small three letter words so we picked up a three letter word speller from Leapfrog at a local large discount store. To our shock the letters from our original leapfrog set did not fit into the new set....not very smart on the part of leapfrog unless they want me to pay two or three times for letters. So we did some digging on Amazon and found this set which uses the standard size letters from leapfrog so we don't have to go buy a whole other set of letters. So I guess what I'm saying is CAUTION, leapfrog sells several sets of alphabets and spellers and sometimes the letters are not interchangeable. REGARDING THIS PLAYER It does what its intended to do. It has a couple of modes one for spelling and one for word games where it prompts the child to enter letters to form a word. Overall, my kid doesn't sit for hours in front of the fridge playing this game but every once in a while she'll stop there and play for a while. If you have an old set, make sure you get the compatible player so you can reuse your words. Average Rating:![]() |

Fridge Wash & Go MagneticReviewsOur 21 month old daughter enjoys standing at the fridge while I'm working in the kitchen, and playing with this toy. She likes to match up the different vehicles, and dance to the songs it plays. I wish there was more variety in the songs - it tends to sing the same thing, just changing the name of the vehicle. But it is very encouraging, congratulating the child when a match is made. The colors are bright and fun. And it is durable, always strongly sticks to the fridge, as well as holds up when carried around and dropped. It is a very interactive magnetic toy. Average Rating:![]() |

LeapFrog: Letter Factory (Kids Pack)ReviewsI bought this video for my son about a month after he turned 2 and within a month he could say all the letters and within about a month and a half he was starting to tell me what all the sounds are the letters make. He is 2 1/2 now and still enjoys the viedo, he can identify all the letters of the alphabet and tell you what sound they make. We have now moved on to the "Talking Words Factory" so he can start learning how to put the letters together. He still enjoys this video as well. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with children, he learned all of this very quickly with this video. My son loves this video but doesn't watch it everyday, and he already knows some sounds from the alphabet and knows what they look like. The shipping from this seller is a bit slow, but it did arrive as advertised. Overall Great service This is a great video for toddlers and kids who enjoy the alphabet and learning letters. This video is interesting because instead of the focus being on the sound of the letter, it focuses on the sound the letter makes. For example...instead of saying just "a" they say the "a" says "ah" the "b" says "buh" ect. My daughter has a speech delay but this video has helped her tremendously. My son loves this video! We have watched it hundreds of times. Even now that he's 5, he'll put it in sometimes. We have most of it memorized but it still makes him laugh. He learned so much about letters and phonics through Leap Frog. He's now reading some words and I think this foundation really helped (although watching it every day for the first few months almost drove me nuts!). This dvd has really helped my kids with learning their letter sounds! It has catchy tunes and holds their interest. I would recommend it to anyone. Average Rating:![]() |

Leapfrog Learning DVDs 5-Pack (Talking Words Factory / Talking Words Factory II / Learn to Read at the Storybook Factory / Letter Factory /Math Circus)ReviewsWe LOVE the letter factory and the second word factory movie. The letter factory does a GREAT job teaching the sounds, and Capital letter recognition. They don't focus much on the lowercase letters and now I am trying to teach my daughter lowercase letters on my own with flash cards. But I'm okay with that, I think the most important thing is that she can recognize the letter in some form and say it's sound. I was amazed at how quickly she started to pick up on them. The second talking words factory teaches some of the rule to reading like silent E, When 2 vowels go walking the first one does the talking, and blends like Sh. Each rule has a song that I think is helpful for remembering the rule. It also has a short song about the vowels. but the other 3 movies I didn't like. I think they focused too much on the plot and trying to be exciting, resulting in missing the mark on actually teaching children the content of the movie. I especially did not like the number movie and the first talking words movie. I found the storybook factory a bit anoying, but I could see it being usefull when my daughter is ready to do more advanced reading. My advice would be to buy the letter factory and the talking words factory II, then forget the other movies. There has got to be some better options on the market for those ones. I ordered this in 2007 for about $41.00. I thought these prises are high. I just ordered them seperately for $56.00. Just copy each title and paste it in a seperate window. Add 1 at a time to your cart. I got all mine through the same seller. DVD's $39.00 + shipping $17.00. I might expect to pay more 3 years later but this is ridiculous. This product is fantastic!! It took about two times through for my son to learn the alphabet and short/soft letter sounds. No, it does not teach the long or hard letter sounds, but they teach that secondary anyhow. The other videos are very good, but not as catchy as the first. We still watch this occasionally, just for reinforcement. I bought this for my 4 year old daughter to help in teaching her how to recognize letters, as well as know the sounds of them. Well.. before watching any of this, she knew nothing. In less than 2 weeks, she almost has the entire alphabet down. This is very educational, and will keep their attention. I highly recommend this set. I keep these videos in the car and my daughter, age 5, loves to sing along with the characters. The Letter Factory actually taught her to say her name for the first time correctly "J"! She's gaining confidence every day. Thanks Leapfrog! Average Rating:![]() |

Leap Frog - Letter Factory [VHS]ReviewsThis video is great! We started playing this for my daughter when she was 14 months old. After viewing it only a few times she knew the names and sounds of all the letters in the alphabet. We would say "What does the "A" say" and she would say "Ahh" like the way the video would say it. We feel like her language skills have grown just by watching this video. She is able to sound out letters even in her books. The video uses repetition in its songs and pronunciation of its letters (they even repeat in the talking words factory) and that is great for toddler learning. The only other video she won't turn off is Sesame Street Count with Me but even then she doesn't really pay attention like she does with the Leapfrog Letter Factory and Talking Words Factory. I definitely recommend these videos! It's quite clever, I love the Quality Control part of the factory where the inspector checks for bad letters. The burster says blestrumph. Quite good. Great dvd!!! My child loves it!!! It keeps him wanting to learn more. I recommend the entire series of leap frog. This is one great product!!! My child who is speech delayed is now sounding out letters and his vocab has improved immensly. Im proud parent to purchase this for my child. Our 2 year son loves this video. The music and plot are fun. I would highly recommend this video. Great video. My daughter learned the alphabet phonically in 2 weeks at age 1.5. I used it for about 6 months and then bought Word factory. but she still asks for Letter factory every once in a while. Average Rating:![]() |

Leap Frog - Talking Words Factory [VHS]ReviewsI have a 2year old with speech delay. I have tried so many different learning tools. I had problems finding learning aids that keep his attention and wanting to learn more. After my recent purchase of letter factory and talking words by leap frog I have seen a huge improvement in my childs vocab. He is sounding out words and saying letters. He loves the DVDs. I am definitly going to purchase the number and color dvd by leap frog. I recommend the entire serious of these dvds to any parent for their child. i have a three year old who has learnt phonics in no time watching the viedeo This is a great way to introduce 3 letter words. My 2.5 yr. old has just started sounding out 3 letters. I use this combined with the "Your Baby can read". she likes this video but i think she likes Letter factory a little better. I showed this video to my daughter after she quickly learned the letter sound by watching The Letter Factory. At 2 1/2 she enjoys watching the video and singing the songs. She was able to pick-up the "Letter Factory" in a week and I think that I expected too much from her at that time that she lose interest in watching this video. She refused watch the video so I stopped showing it to her for a few months. I continued to show her the Letter factory and other educational videos. The game included on the video where she needs to pick the letter gets her interest back in when she was close to having her 3rd birthday. She now watches this video again and can now read 3 letter word by putting the letter sound together. The only problem was that all Leap Frog video examples are using Capital Letters. She have a letter mat that is all Capital, Blocks that is all Capital and I also write in All caps. So, when I write something, she can easily read the word by sounding all the letters out but then when my wife tries the same word with her she gets confused. This is where we noticed that most toddler toys that shows alphabet only uses capital letters. I guess we continue on what she already know and slowly introduce the lower case letters so she can start learning to read in both cases. The word game is great! Like what I mentioned, this is what makes her watch the video again. She loves it especially when she gets a clap after choosing the right letter to form the word. I'm also showing her the other videos such as Talking Words factory 2 - Code Word caper, Learn to Read story book and Math Circus when she request them but this time I will just let her enjoy those videos and not expect her to learn the content right away until she really master this video. My son is 2 1/2 and so far loves every Leap frog video I have purchased for him and this one is no different. Everynight before he goes to bed he wants to watch this movie, he calls it "Froggies learn to read movie" He loves the "sticky letters" the vowels in the movie and the songs are a lot of fun. Would highly recommend this to anyone with a child 2 or older. Average Rating:![]() |

Leap Frog - Talking Words Factory 2 - Code Word Caper [VHS]ReviewsWe have the first two videos in the series... and this third one is terrific. It is a logical flow from the first two, building on what we already know about sounding out words to read. The songs are catchy and help the kids to remember the rules. These videos have helped to support the reading efforts we are making at home. (my kids are preschoolers). First and most importantly this is also released as "Code word caper". So to be perfectly clear "Talking words factory 2 Code Word Caper" and "code word Caper" are the SAME!! It was clearly written on the back of the video I just didn't see it until I got home, so I want to save you a trip to return the video. Now let me say... this is the best one yet. It had wonderful songs that remind the children what to do. As usual, they are consistent with the little reminders of the sounds. Really great. Get it. You will not be disappointed. I sing the songs to my daughter when she gets stuck on a word. This is a great DVD! I LOVE all of the Leap Frog DVDs! My 4 year old daughter caught onto the the silent e thing right away. Because of these DVDs she began reading at 4 year old. Awesome! A wonderful video series. My son learned to read from these sets at 3 years old. These are by far the best videos I have purchased for my son. I was excited to buy a "new" DVD but I was very disappointed to find out it was the same as "Code Word Caper." The only thing new about this is a slightly different name and packaging. I otherwise like the series but they should not be allowed to call it new. It was a waste of money to buy the same thing twice so I have it 1 star. Average Rating:![]() |

Leap Frog - Learn to Read at the Storybook FactoryReviewsI first purchased this for my niece whose reading skills used to be below her class average. The Leapfrog products have since changed her life for the better. She is now one of the best readers in her school and I am a grateful Leapfrog customer. I got this for my 3 yr old to watch. She loves the 3 little pigs story and has picked up the meaning of commas, periods, and exclamation points. Not sure if she's actually picking up how to read the actual words during the story, but she's just three, and this DVD is more for educational entertainment other than all the Disney princess cartoons she watches. I'm sure my 3yr old is starting to recognize the words she sees during the DVD. I personally just thought it was okay but he loves it! He is learning so much. It is a really good way for kids to learn. I thought it was boring an uninspired but they must really get on the kids level. I have even had a friends hard to handle 7 year old at my home and he was even quiet when watching. Good buy! My son LOVES watching the Leap Frog video series. He is learning so much from the videos. I would recommend them to anyone who has young children. My 1 year old loves watching this movie. Its one of the only shows she'll sit down and watch. I will be buying more Leapfrog DVDs. Yuasa Enitime AAA Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack)ReviewsI guess it's good that I bought two sets, because one set it always in the charger. These batteries run down faster than any other brand I've used. I don't have major problems when I am using this battery. I have used this product for 2 months. I received this item as chrismas gift. Because my led flash light uses 3 AAA batteries, I constantly restock Alkaline AAAs. Yuasa low discharge AAA are perfect replacement for my application. I plan to buy additional pack to keep them on rotation so I will never run out of batteries. Instead of purchasing more alkaline batteries, the money I saved help me to purchase another pack of Yuasa precharged AAA batteries. I purchased these hoping to save a little over the cost of Eneloop's. While a good performing rechargeable I get better performance and life from the Eneloop brand. Next time I will probably purchase Eneloop for the price difference. Review is for the Enitime AA: ---------------------------------- GS Yuasa is a Japanese company that makes batteries mostly for sport vehicles. My Enitime AAs came pre-charged with my new universal remote control. "Technology from Japan - Made in China". So far, performance is comparable with my other low discharge batteries. Regular NiMh batteries are old school; these new batteries are greener and better. Pros: -For a rechargeable battery, these batteries does not need to be charged before you use it for the first time; right from the packaging into your gadgets. -They last a long time. -Does not need special charger. You can use your existing NiMh charger. Cons: -This later technology is still expensive. Yuasa Enitime AA Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries (4-Pack)ReviewsI recently bought two packs of these batteries. When they arrived I opened one of the packs and tried the batteries in a digital clock they did not work. I know the clock works fine it was running on a pair of Sanyo eneloop batteries right before I tried these. I put them into my La Crosse BC-900 charger and had to charge them. The first time two of the four reached their claimed ratings the other two fell far short. They are now in the process of being refreshed. Hopefully they will come around. The second pack I tried were also dead so much for being ready to use. I think I will stick with Sanyo eneloop batteries from now on. Cisco-Linksys Refurbished WRT54G2-RM Wireless-G RouterReviewsI guess the saying always holds true: You always get what you pay for. Refurbished or broken. This product did not work. The same problem that was wrong with it before is what's wrong with it now. Buy new, not refurbished. Forget your budget. The router works fine but the reception is poor. It's the third router we've had in our house and by far gets the worst reception. I'm guessing if it had an external antenna, it'd be better. I don't recommend buying this router unless you will be using it in a single room. The signal does not carry well through walls or floors. I purchased this router recently and I did not know how it would work because this is the first time using this brand router and a refurbished one. Setting up was a breeze it was like 1,2,3 done. Since setting it up, it works very well no complaints, and it came at a good price. I would buy another one like this if I needed one. I just plugged it in and it worked, it was a challenge to try to get MAC compatible software so that it would be secure from outside users If you need a plain-jane wireless-g router, well you found what you need. FLY Fusion Pentop Computer - BlackReviewsi origanally bought this item for myself... a nineteen year old and i could never see using it.. i didnt get it. the pen could not read my handwriting and it wasnt working for me! but i passed it over to my little brother, he loved it ! he uses it all the time! I was actually just researching this item as a possible gift for my 5th grader & found out some info I thought would be good to share. According to a post I saw on the leapfrog forums, because of CPSIA legislation regarding lead content standards for users under 12("The FLY Fusion Pen contains the same leaded tip as all ball point pens") this item is being pulled & is currently not being supported until the company can find a way to make the pen compliant. I can understand this, but am surprised the company is still selling the product when they cannot provide support or refills for it. Hopefully they have something in the works, as it sounds like a fabulous product, but I won't be getting one if they cannot provide any support for it. I love using this product. It's been fantastically useful. I bought it at a "bricks and mortar" store, and didn't expect to have a problem with it. It's worked flawlessly. Here's the problem. I wanted to buy some ink refills for it, as the pen component isn't that large. I thought it would be a good idea to buy some extra notebooks for it as well. Good luck finding both. I found notebooks here on Amazon, but long term finding the ink is going to be a problem. I finally broke down & bought from an Amazon partner. If I get the pens, I'll come back and give them a rave review. But sooner or later, this isn't going to be an option. I will never buy another product from the company, and will make sure that I repost this review for the related products so that users can get them as soon as possible. I'll also have to post this to the web site of an electronic/computer retailer that rhymes with "West Lies" so that people know how much integrity they have for selling a product that they had to know was being no longer supported. Jerks. I would have preferred having more instructions included about the software upon installation or having "prompts" or "pop-ups" with definitions to words on the page when navigating, as it seems a bit confusing and overwhelming as it is. If you value your money, do not purchase this product. If you plan to use it long term, you will not be able to. It is nearly impossible to find the notebooks and ink refills necessary to use this product. They discontinued the entire line after it's only been on the market a couple years (since 2006, I think). The fact that Leapfrog has no problem screwing over all the people who bought this device makes me think twice about purchasing any of their other products. Average Rating:![]() |

Leapfrog Crammer Study & Sound System Special Bundle Pack : Handheld + Ear buds + Case + Silicone SkinsReviewsThe Leapfrog Crammer is an okay study tool. I think the hand held console is a little too small for my child. I didn't realize how small it was before I bought it. It's great downloading flashcards, but I was surprised that there was not multiplication and division facts ready to download. I had to create my own flashcards for my child to practice. The Crammer is a good concept. I loved the idea. A game or two and lots of opportunity to quiz and learn with promises from Leapfrog of more content available. Alas, as with so many of their best products, they turn their back on support, stop releasing new content and throw all their money into the promotion of preschool products that are inferior next to other products on the market. We saw it with early Leap pad products, we saw it with Fly, now this. for once, I do wish LeapFrog would recognize the potential and continue to EXPAND and improve content so that a person is not high and dry after a month or less. Buy a crammer if you would like to use it for flash cards. Otherwise, you would be better off getting an MP3 player or an Ipod Touch and some learning apps. This seller has surprised me! I have never faced a buyer who is centered on seller delight. Thanks very much and I'm certain to be a repeat Customer for your business. help with learning and subjects the child maybe have trouble in. my cousin loves the games and downloading his music. I've tried 2 of these and both froze on install. With online troubleshooting as well as included instructions I was unable to get them to function at all. I'd sure love it to work, but am timid to try another time. When I emailed LeapFrog that "I'd be better off with 3x5 flashcards" they replied "what are flashcards?". Perhaps we just need the right company to develop this tool so it works. Average Rating:![]() |
